I have a couple of headphones, among the Bluetooth Noise Cancelling Headphones, my personal view would be
Sony WH-1000XM4 > Apple Airpods Max > Bose 700 > Sennheiser PXC-550II
I also recently switched from Airpods Pro to Sony WF-1000XM4, and the Sony turns out great as expected. Try the Sony one if you get a chance.
I have the Bose 700s and I rate them better than the XM3 I had (not that different from XM4s), also have a pair of AirPod pros, which I highly rate.
The Sony headphones were awful for making calls with (XM4s didn’t fix the issue), with the Bose 700s people can actually hear me clearly.
Function wise between Bose and Sony seem to be the same, such as noise-canceling and connectivity.
Great price for $378.
The XM3 is more comparable to Bose QC line they are both extremely similar and realistically you would be happy as a consumer with either or
Yeah the XM3 was great, expect for connecting to multiple devices (XM4 fixed that) and voice-calling (which XM4 didn’t resolve).
I used XM4s for few days and returned it, it wasn't switching seamlessly between my HP work laptop and note 8. But in saying that, new firmware updates may have fixed those kind of problems.
For pure Audio listening Sony XM3/4 is better than Bose 700 and Apple Max. For making calls Xm4 and Xm3 sometimes works really well sometimes awful. I didn't use Apple one for long, it was very good for making calls when I used it.
Perhaps coz they released QC45
Bought it when it was $449 from Bose.
Tried it on 1 hour and decided to return it. There was lag, also the stop/start button is not sensitive. Tap it for 5 times and only 1 working. +/- volume control gesture also a bit laggy.
I never try 1000XM4 so not sure whether it will be better.
