Looking to buy a king bed and mattress for the first time. Budget is around $2k. Does any one have any personal experience with the shops around in Auckland? Looking to buy a king base, king mattress and king headboard. Any help is appreciated.

Generally you can get a decent matteress from HN or Farmers for around $1000-1200 on sale (plus base and headboard)
I havent been keeping up with it but both retailers will have a 50% off or sometimes 60% off on matteresses every few weeks.
Look into any of the high end foam mattress companies. They are so good

Bought Queen from HN"s recently, (NOT in AKL), anyway the thing I found is that the 'high/low' pricing seems endemic. That's to say - everyone does it. So when you see 50% Off don't be fooled that it's actually any kind of 'special deal' it's not it's just the usual.
