Amazon.com.au - Shipping to NZ?

Hi All,

Has anyone successfully purchased from amazon.com.au with a delivery address in NZ in the last day or so?

I purchased from there last month (Lego in that instance), and they delivered to NZ no problem (there was a freight fee, but that was fine).

Today (2210hrs or so - five / ten mins ago) I added a couple of things to my card, proceeded to go to checkout, and I am getting the following message on both items:

We are unable to send non-digital items to New Zealand delivery addresses.

Seems a bit odd since they made something of a fanfare about now shipping to NZ a couple of months ago (?).

    I just finished talking to live chat. No help. Just told me to place the order on Amazon.com instead. When I pressed him/her for more information, they just said:

    "Currently amazon australia facing some issues while placing order to new zealand."

    got a dispatch email on Friday regarding a lego set bought on Thursday. tracking says arrived today in Auckland carrier facility.
    However another lego set from same order is not yet shipped.

    Ordered something a couple days ago but seeing the same issue now. It's bizarre if nobody from NZ can order despite the NZ shipping promotion going on. Without any sort of notification from amazon.

    Maybe just a temp thing so they can supply Australian orders faster? NZers have missed the Christmas window so maybe they've paused shipping to NZ. Odd they don't share a reason though.

      The estimate timeframe for one of the two items I tried to order was '1 to 2 months' (which, actually, was okay as it will be birthday present next year).

      I can't see why they would not process that order, take the payment, and leave it waiting to ship until the Xmas rush is over?

    I ordered something from them about a month ago. Amazingly, it arrived 3 days later!

    My only guess is some sort of temporary shipping issue due to volumes/time of year? They could have had limitations placed on them by their couriers. Or else just a Amazon glitch. But yes, they do need to put up some sort of announcement if it's going to be continuing for much longer. I can't find anything that will actually ship here on Amazon.au at present. Even those items which are actually sold by New Zealand suppliers. I wonder if they realise……….

    Assuming they are trying to deal with the Aussie Christmas rush first?

    My last Amazon order which shipped fine was on the 8th. (Arrived fine)
    My last Amazon order which has yet to ship was on the 12th.

      'Yet to ship' I could understand - including for something I order now, but saying that they can't even take the order is odd, especially when they concurrently have a promotion of free shipping to NZ!

    My shipping (DHL) was delayed by about 1 day, amazon credited the whole shipping fee into my account without me having to lift a finger

          As above, there was no issue previously - it only began yesterday (as far as we know).

    Same problem here, I was ordering yesterday without any problem, then this morning I received that same message for everything I tried to order that they can only ship digital items.

    I also talked to customer service and they said they are currently experiencing issues, I am thinking that they know something we don't know. They just told me to order form Amazon US.

    Does seem strange.

    Just had the same error trying to order a Nintendo Switch from AU. Which, can't just be ordered from the US store as it is blocked from shipping to NZ! I thought it was a Nintendo conspiracy but looks like everything is affected. So strange.

    Yep, ordered about $60 worth of lego a few days ago and it was delivered from Australia about 2 days later via DHL Express. Pretty good service really and about half the price of any supplier in NZ.
