Suggestions on Sprayer

Can I please ask if anyone has any suggestion on sprayer or Knapsack Sprayer that has long lasting quality and easy to use on spray the cleaning product.

I am going to use it on spray the cleaning solution on deck and drive way like 30 seconds spray and walking away….

Thank you

  • I'd just use a cheap pressure sprayer for that, eg. this one for $12

I've personally found the Aqua Systems stuff to be rather poor quality (bought two and returned two) so I got the Nylex ones and they've been rock solid. Little bit more expensive, but at least they don't leak air and have good spray nozzles.

    • Have the cheap Aqua Systems 5L, has been great for the past ~18 months spraying generic Wet-and-Forget and Hit-the-Deck. Have put 15-20 full 5L quantities through it so far, nothing has broken or worn out.

8L version or a longer lance/wand might have been nice but hasn't bothered me in the end - it all ends up on the ground.

Considered getting a backpack sprayer too but the constant pumping and weird reviews of the uneven shoulder straps have put me off.
Also considered the Ryobi/Ozito powered models but decided to hold off upgrading for now, both don't seem as easy to shake to mix or rinse empty compared to a basic 5L manual one.

    • yeah I use this to water the plants and it works well. haven't used anything corrosive in it though. one downside is the strap is a bit basic so it's hard to move around

I have ryobi tools and recently bought their 7.5l sprayer, works well, nice not to have to manually pump.

In hindsight I probably would of bought the even larger capacity 15l backpack to reduce refills.
Not sure how long it will last but so far so good.

  • For quality, solo sprayers are well up there.
Might be a tad expensive though unless you are wanting to use it regularly.
I have a manual one, good thick walled plastic, good pressure generation and adjustments.

Make sure you wash it out thoroughly with some detergent and clean water pumped through the sprayer after each use.
Sodium Hypochlorite (the active ingredient in 30 Seconds) and a lot of other chemical cleaners will corrode the seals in your sprayer if you leave it in there.
As mentioned by @elbrownos above I would recommend a cheap sprayer for these sort of cleaning jobs and get a good quality sprayer such as the Solo for spraying everything else.

EDIT: Sorry just realised you said you were using 30 Seconds Spray & Walk Away - this is a different chemical and not as corrosive.
If you are cleaning a deck though and want to be a real Cheapie then just use Napisan.
It's cheap and does a really good job on a deck.

  • On this note, any suggestions for a sprayer that would be good for an oil based stain to do a fence with?

I used a brush in our last place and remember the blisters. New place has 3x the fence length, which was brand new when we moved in but has weathered for 18 months now so thought worth a couple coats.

    • For doing a fence you need a spray gun not a pressure sprayer.
You can buy them but the cheap ones clog up easily and the good quality ones can be expensive.
Easiest to just hire one for a job like this. Not sure how much but most hiring places will have them.

  • The jobmate one from M10 does the trick. Think it was $50. 20l
I have a large yard and its served me well with all my spraying
