  • Anyone have this and can comment on how wide the bottle is compared to their 500ml ones? Just wondering if it will fit in my backpack side pocket

    • +1

It’s quite wide and doesn’t fit in my side pocket. I reckon it’s about 8cm diameter (25cm circumference) so larger than the 500mL one.

      • ah thats really a shame, can just fit the 500ml

    • is there plastic inside the lid?

      • the 500ml one? yes

      • Plastic lid with a removable silicone seal

    • Just measured mine, about 86mm in diameter.

      • cheers

  • Some good feedback on this bottle over at OzBargain

  • Anyone know if you can fit one of this in car's cup holder? Would really love a cold water on the go, but has to be within reach.

I use two of these daily. They've been pretty durable, and do a really good job of keeping liquid cold (chilled water with ice at 0730 still has ice at 1300).

Warehouse refuses to price match because countdown price is on special and apparently there is a clause that prohibits price match on promotional item, I told the only chat guy that is stupid if price match only applies to rrp which is identical across retailers.

    • That would only make sense if it were on clearance, however it's not. The agent doesn't even know their own policies.

Excludes gift cards, vouchers and phone cards, daily deals websites, overseas retailers, commercial quantities, stock liquidations, all clearance products, limited quantity offers, store opening deals at either our or the competitor store, direct-from-supplier purchases and parallel imported products.

      • "limited quantity offers"

So if Countdown says "limit 5" I believe that means WH can reject you. So basically, any good sale can be rejected.

        • I believe what they're referring to is a sale which says something along the lines of "maximum of 30 in stock across New Zealand". A prime example is Pbtech who does that sort of thing.

The warehouse has their own enforceable stock limits on things, without explicitly saying it. You can't normally go in and clear the shelves of cushions, for example.

It's likely to be this one
-Products lowered in price cannot be combined with any other TWL or competitor’s promotion or credit offer, or with any trade terms, direct purchasing from the supplier, limited quantity offers or internet only retailers.

They've done this so many times already. I always lodge a complaint to CommComm every time they refuse to pricematch because of that clause. I urge you to do the same. They are clearly misinterpreting the "products lowered in price" to be of the competitor when it's actually referring to their product that's been lowered in price due to price promise.

I’ve reported Noel leeming plenty of times. Glad someone else is doing this too

They're a joke with their matching now. Just get Mitre 10 to do it if you have one near you

  • Any deals on metal lunchboxes?

  • Does anyone know if countdown sell the "Chic" hydro drink bottles as it's not on their website.

    https://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/sistema-hydration-chic-stainl…

    • Probably not if it's not on their website

      • Oh bugger, I'll just have to wait until Mitre10 do a 50% off on Sistema then…

    • They don't. The cheapest I've seen them is in Pak N Saves ($16-$18)

  • Got one from paknsave for $16.99 yesterday. Countdown price is ridiculous.

    • +1

Nah, the Sistema prices are all set to enable the 50% off deal, which seems to run on a cycle across most retailers that stock them. PNS stores just cut the bullshit and sell it at its "sale" price by default.
