Any recommendations for bargain tablet that allows to take notes during reading?

I have a Kindle PaperWhite 3 now, but it's so hard and slow to take notes while I'm reading, although it's probably the most eye-friendly reader. I wonder if you can recommend any tablets up to NZD$400 with which I can install the reading app and take notes easily on PDF or other format?

    tab s6 lite. Expect a solid price reduction over waitangi weekend.

    Might work, just a standard android tablet with a stylus?
