E-Scooter or E-Bike or Regular Bike

Hello fellow cheapies

I am planning to get one of the three mentioned in the title and am confused as to what to do. I am leaning towards getting a regular bike because e-bike kinda costs a lot and e-scooter requires regular tire maintenance especially in wet weather. Do you guys have any suggestions for either of them that I could look into

Thanks in advance

I think it depends what you're wanting it for. If it's for transport (rather than exercise) you can afford an ebike I'd get that over a regular bike. If it's for short commutes, a scooter is probably more practical.

Either way, be careful where you keep it and invest in a decent lock that can't be cut: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/under-the-radar-thousands-of-b…

  • Is a "Regular Bike" a mountain bike? Or a more upright commuting bike? The easy off road trails around NZ are really awesome, so if you have any desire to check these out the go for a mountain bike or ebike, depending on what else you'll use it for, eg lenth of commute.
I had an escooter in Wellington and it wasn't as great as I expected, it was awkwrad to ride on the footpath and was slow and made me feel vulerable on the road, the wider paths around the waterfront were good but connecting to them wasn't always easy. I'm not sure what it would be like in your area. It was also quite large and awkward on the train but at least i could take any train where as I was restricted if I took my bike which I much preferred. Bike brakes are much better.

  • "Regular tyre maintenance" is depending on what model you get I have original tyres on my Ninebot max with about 2500-3000kms
