Hey, just wondering if anyone is using a monitor light bar? Do these serve a useful purpose or are they a gimmick?

I bought one from Kogan when they had free shipping and used up the $20 voucher received from one of their pricing error apologies.
I’ve been surprised with how good it actually is. It provides plenty of light with surprisingly little actually hitting the screen so basically no glare.
For working all day at home, it just helps add tons of light to my space so better for my eyes. (I also have strong lighting in my office, and a good white lamp behind my screens hitting the wall and lighting up the space too
And if I play games at night, it’s a nicer balance between playing in a dark room and bias backlighting,so again helping with eye fatigue.
I’m considering buying more for other screens and computer setups so I don’t need to keep moving around.
But I couldn’t justify $60 when a desktop behind the screen pointing at the wall is almost as good. Under $40 would tempt me to buy more
