Hi there,
Just interested to hear any recommendations on ultrawide 49inch monitors, as well as a decent mount arm.
Main purpose is for work productivity.
Thanks

Do you have a budget?
I have the Philips 499P9H1 and I think it's fantastic. I like being able to have 4 x A4 (or larger) windows/apps open side by side - it's a great productivity boost.
I'm using it with its built-in stand which gives good height - I can have my 16" Macbook Pro open underneath it and extend the display.
The Macbook Pro has no problem driving the native 5120x1440 resolution.
I like the fact it has a USB-C with Power Delivery - so I can have a single connection to the Mac driving the display and also charging the Macbook (albeit only 60W).
It has a built-in Webcam which is fine but I don't really use as it's a bit high with my laptop underneath - I use the laptop Webcam instead.
It does also have a built-in GigE connection on the USB hub however I don't use it because it has restrictions. If you put the monitor in USB 3 mode the port is GigE. If you have it in USB2 mode the port will only run at Fast Ethernet (100Mb/sec).
The issue is that if you run the USB hub in USB3 mode, the screen only runs at 30Hz @ 5120x1440. If you run USB2 the screen will do 70Hz @ 5120x1440. Since I prefer the better refresh rate I don't use the built-in Ethernet. (This may be a Mac thing - other devices may not have this issue)
It can also do clever things like have 2 inputs side-by-side on the screen and share a KVM, but I haven't tried that.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Have a look at the Samsung range. I've got one (LC49RG90SSEXXY) a year or so ago and its excellent. I see they now do a model with a USB-C connection too which is my only regret with the model I have. Perhaps time to upgrade!
Dell Or Philips for productivity
I have the Neo g9 works great for both gaming and work but definitely go for dell or Philips for work
Got the Dell U4919 and love it
