We are looking to buy a rug for our living room's wooden floor. We went to a few rug shop and found the price to be ridiculous high for a Persian, Afghanistan or Iranian made wool rug well over $3k for a 3m x 2m piece.
Does anyone have any recommendation where is get value for money quality rug in Auckland?

I've never bought a rug, they're not my thing. But rug shops seem to be almost as bad as Briscoes with their perpetual sales. It's like they can't sell anything unless they have a sale, and your comment confirms that. Maybe ask when their next 70-90% off sale is?
We got a synthetic one from Spotlight for a pretty good price (can't remember what it was exactly, but was by far the cheapest we could find)
What style are you after? I got a custom 2.6 x 1.8 wool rug for $229. Got some samples first then sent her the dimensions and style we wanted. Based in Hamilton but delivers to most places. She sells some cheapies on her Facebook (story) too.
