  • Curious - are the prices for NZ domains shown in AUD?

Also, what is behind the disparity between NZ and AU domain prices? $10 for .com.au but $25 for .co.nz? The web hosting pricing is the same in both countries though?

    • Nz wholesale cost is far higher. Internetnz are constantly raising the prices.

I agree though aud pricing is no deal given the exchange rate.

  • +1

This doesn't appear to be a special deal or anything, plus the price is not in NZD.

    • I agree.

  • What's the actual deal? Nothing special here.

  • KnowledgeBase is bereft of information. Marketing material is empty.

I was going to give the benefit of the doubt and see whether there was default domain privacy and DNSSEC but can't find this information anywhere.

This would make the prices cheaper than other providers and motivate me to switch for my country specific domains from CrazyDomains who want to nickle and dime me on everything.

Also wanted to know the controls given for domain records, but trying to register a domain simply asked me what NameServers to use which makes me think there are no controls and the intent is to offload somewhere else.

Since I can't find that information myself, I can only assume the grass is not greener, and CrazyDomains is cheaper.

For their supported list of domains, CloudFlare is peerless AND cheapest. I just wish they'd get NZ and HK Domains under their belt.

People who register their own domains are usually people who are information orientated, and assume the worst when that information isn't available.
