  • Can you still use the codes in the drivethru ? Cant see how you would get your bonus points applied unless each code is specific to you ?

    • +1

Definitely specific to you, in the old system anyways. Sometimes I had to type in the code when using those self serve kiosk and any bonuses will be applied to my account.

  • +2

You have to tell them the code at the drive thru, wish they would implement ordering in the app for pickup.

    • Yeah and at the time you order, rather than at the point you pay

  • +5

Wow. Pretty poor value on the points. $88 spend to get a quarter pounder (and I assume its not a combo). BK it will take you $70 to get a whopper regular meal (and that's still not great).

    $51 spend for a cheese burger (BK - $30).

And seriously, what's with the 100 points per dollar then the ridiculous point values for a reward? Just drop two decimal places and the whole thing becomes a bit clearer (BKs 7 points per dollar is worse of course)

Just another loyalty scheme to confuse the heck out of us

Kiwis pay too much, loyalty schemes confusing

    • +2

That's why I'm likely to just get the $5 deal and then something else with my bonus points.
I'm unlikely to go back until the next deal comes along.

Yeah my plan is to just spend $5, get a quarter pounder, small drink, small fries, get bonus large coffee and a hash brown. All for a fiver, not bad! Welcome to ChoiceFatties.

Edit: oh, don't forget to get another free large coffee from same account lol

    • +1

At least BK has double/triple point days that makes it $15 or $10 spend for a cheeseburger you can save

    • +1

Any size coffee though just 2500 points, and if you go for large - it's usually above 5 dollars

    • How would you account for cents in your purchase if they dropped the decimals? It's 100 points for every $1.00 spent so if i spent $1.50, i would get 150 points.

      • Yes every cent is a point so a 50 cent bbq sauce gives you 50 points

  • With the $5 any favourite burger, small drink, small fries, can I also add a free add on to my meal, because Im ordering a combo?

    • +1

No. You can only redeem one reward or McDonald’s app offer per transaction, per visit.

      • Yeah I had to make 3 separate orders lol. My local store ran out of printer paper and it was abit chaotic, but unlike understaffed BK stores, Maccas always handled it well.

  • I got 5500 pts for the $5 Big Mac meal. Bonus! But yeah drop a couple of decimal points.

Burger King with its double/triple points days are great.

    • Yep - 500 points for your $5 spend and then the 5000 bonus points.

      • Great, that means Cheeseburger (5100 Points) qualifies too (without spending more than $5)

  • Ah of course…

    • My local ran out of apple pies and gave me a custard pie instead.
