Apple USB-C to 3.5mm is probably the best for the price by far - works with all devices not just Apple
that's not a DAC right, just an cable/adapter?
100% contains a DAC.
Unless op is actually looking for an amplifier for high impedance headphones which is a different story
I use the Apple USB-C to 3.5mm DAC with my OnePlus 6 Android phone.
The sound quality is excellent and no hiss (unlike some cheap AliExpress brands); however it's quieter than other DACs and the cable is pretty thin so it doesn't feel like it will last very long.
If it's a Samsung you need the official one or one with a DAC. Other brands like Xiaomi work with basically anything but it varies
can you explain?
Samsung's don't have a DAC so that's why you need either the official one or a third party one with the DAC.
Things we have to watch out for working in retail else they gonna return it.do you mean Samsung phone or Samsung USB C-3.5mm cable doesn't have a DAC?
If the samsung cable doesn't have a DAC, how come it works, when third party one don't?
@justaddwater: The Samsung phones need a DAC to work so the adaptor has it inside
Got this one for my Samsung S20FE. No problems so far: https://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/2-in-1-audio-adapter-cab…
That's not a DAC. That's a cable, not an audio processor.
I’m confused by this. It says 2-in-1 but it appears to be a single cable. Is that just poor wording and it’s a simple usb-C to 3.5 cable?
Sorry my mistake - didn't read your request properly!
Ignore my comment lol
something like this?
https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/ADPUNI1084/Unitek-M1204A-US…Noel leeming have this one, doesn't specifically mention DAC but is does have an active chipset.
Could just be the way they've worded it.https://www.noelleeming.co.nz/p/alogic-elements-pro-usb--c-t…
or if you want to go all out.
https://www.soundlab.co.nz/headphone-amps/404-nexum-aqua-typ…That unitek should work it mentions Samsung compatility and a DAC
