The most recent game in Wellington had crazy accommodation prices and sold out hotels. ABs going into South Africa as underdogs for the first time in 13 years, but at Eden Park it's been a long, long time since they've lost, so it's sure to be a great test.

The date is September 24th, and as a result, you'll want accommodation booked early if attending, if Wellington was anything to go by.

I've found some examples from the linked date (sorted by discount). Note there are also hostel beds from $18 if you realllly want a cheap bed.

Discount examples:

The Devereux Boutique Hotel - 49% off - now $85
Waipuna Hotel and Conference center - 46% off - now $124
Boulevard Hotel - 39% off - now $132
Auckland City Hotel on Hobson - 38% off - now $150
Airedale Boutique Suites 34% off - now $238 (side note, Air NZ put us up there a few weeks ago when our flight was cancelled and the room was VERY nice. The manager Richard also made us free coffees).
Stamford Plaza - 34% off - now $268
and more

and note that many of these have free cancellation too, in case you need that.

Cheap flights can be searched for to Auckland as well

  • Links to booking screens won’t load for me on my iPhone OP - am I holding my mouth wrong?

    • Heh, probably not. Can you see the list of hotels on the results page? Are the links 404 broken or just not loading properly?

      • I can see the hotels alright, but when I click on any of them, the header image loads, but no deals or details do…

        • Just tried myself, if by header you mean the Beat That Flight part, yup, I got that too but after about 3-10 seconds (tried it a few times) it does load for me. That's annoyingly slow, I'll see if my data provider is causing delays :/ Thanks!

          • @beatthatflight: No worries. By header I mean the tropical beach photo.

I got it to work on my iPad fine, but no browser on my iPhone will load it…

Is there any way to book multiple rooms in one booking?

            • @JedEnzed: Multiple rooms as in multiple hotels, or say, 3 rooms at one hotel for 6 guests? If the latter, yes, but we can't search for it on the base search because the data isn't always provided by the data sources.

However, once you've chosen your hotel, you should on most of them find something like this: https://imgur.com/a/OfbvMVH which allows you at that point to select how many rooms you want, and book.

            • @JedEnzed: Can now reproduce the issue on an iPhone 12. This is weird. Thanks for the heads up!

edit: removed offending code. Should work on iPhones now too. Really appreciate the notice!
