    DentalCare West is great.

    My daughter needed a quote and most places wouldn't see her without me paying $200+ (without the guarantee of me taking her there for treatment). I called at least a dozen different places when she was referred. Nobody would see her for free.

    The quote appointment at DCW was free, thorough and their payment plan was great. $1000 deposit and balance $250/month. Directly to them, no finance company involved. They also have Q Card.

    She's getting them removed in the next couple of months and we couldn't be more pleased.

  Braces 6k-10k sounds about right. Just one thing to be aware of when you find a place you like is to make sure they are actually a registered orthodontist. I've heard stories that some dentists try to get away with doing orthodontist work and it doesn't work out well.

      Why go to an expensive specialist if the braces isn't going to be a complicated case. Just find a dentist who has additional training in orthodontic work so you know they have the skills to do the job. Or pay $8-10k for a specialist which sounds like the going rate in Auckland.

  Dental cost is very much dependant on the work involved. You need to ask the procedure the orthodontist will take to ensure you're not comparing apple to oranges. I would not recommend going to one that will pull out teeth, as that way is alot easier, requiring a lower skill set.
