Worked for me at checkout. Hopefully see the credit soon (within two business days).

To qualify, you must: (1) be one of the first 5,000 new eligible customers to purchase $50 or more in Amazon gift cards in a single order at Amazon.com.au until 11:59pm AEDT on 23 October 2022, and (2) enter promotional code "NEWGIFT" in the "redeem a Gift Card or Promotional Code" box at checkout. Promotional credit expires 11:59pm AEDT on 31 March 2023.

New Eligible Customers means customers who have not previously purchased Amazon Gift Cards on Amazon.com.au or the Amazon App. If a new Amazon.com.au account is created, it may take up to 48 hours for the promotional code to be successfully applied at checkout.

Promotional credit will be automatically applied to your account within two (2) business days. A confirmation email will be sent once the promotional code has been applied to your account. Promotional credit can only be used for purchases of eligible items shipped and sold by Amazon AU and will be automatically applied during checkout. One promotional credit per customer.

Legend. Nothing like some free money!! Will go to funding my LEGO addiction lol

  • How long does it to receive $5 credit?
I did my first Gift card purchase three days ago, but still haven't received the credit email.

    • Same here (and similar comments on OzBargain).

Did just get my dispatched email today though.

  • I just had wonderful conversation with their support chat.

… but they did apply $5 manually in the end.

    • No disrespect to them but Amazon Customer service has gone down hill since last I chatted with them, I have been handed through 2 CSR already because none of them seem to understand English and kept telling me to just put the gift card in the cart and purchase and I already had told them I had purchased it already, I gave them the order number and the promotion and the ToS where it says 2 business days.

Anyway, 2 backed out of the conversation saying they had technical difficulty then got someone who sorted it out straight away.

Bezos probably making it difficult to get your free money.

  • A shame you seem to have to go through the chat to get the credit.

For anyone else who has credit their missing, feel free to use the wording below as they simply added the credit straight away without needing to ask me anything else

    Hello,
I recently took advantage of a promotion where the first purchase of an Amazon gift-card of $50 AUD or more was issued with $5 account credit after entering the code of NEWGIFT at checkout.
The terms stated it could take up to 2 business days to automatically apply, but having checked on a purchase I made last week its still missing.
I have just checked in both my account, and also at the cart/checkout and am not able to find it.
Could you please investigate this for me.

      Perfect. Sorted in five minutes.

    • Took me more than five minutes and then a phone call to resolve this issue.

If I didn't check this page, I would keep waiting and receive nothing.

This $5 credit isn't shown on the wallet and will appear only at checkout.
