    It depends on where you will be using the TV and if you will notice the difference.
    e.g. I have my TV in a dark corner of a dim room, so OLED is great.
    My friend has a TV in their room full North facing glass windows, so they got a really bright QLED

    If you can't really see differences in images in a low end Tv vs high end Tv then go for what you can afford
    others will go for specific features or wanting to get the best image

    Higher end ones generally also have smaller backlight leds which leads to less blooming in contrast areas

    It's not always what you see justifies the cost, it also matters what's inside. Cheaper brand TVs may use the same panel but not the same high quality better internal which gives you better performance like responsive UI, more processing power etc.

    As per your comments, I think you would say the same for mobiles as well. A $2000 dollar mobile does the same thing what a $200 mobile can do, so why pay premium for apple or samsung?

    Yeah personally OLED wouldn't suit my setup, with daytime viewing and lots of windows in the lounge etc.

    Watch for the concept that "they're all the same panels" as whilst in some cases this is actually true, the electronics behind what drives the panel can be distinctly different.
    Budget sets tend to have budget controllers and if that's sending blocky images to the screen panel then it's never going to be as good as the panel potential could be.
    Likewise with junky firmware on those controllers etc and going budget is a risk.

    Over to you if it's worth the price / performance difference for you.

  good tvs - we got an 8k neo qled from harvey for about 2700 and got 200 dollars in giftcards

  honestly looks better than an oled tv, oled tvs can be a bit too dark sometimes

          @brownie1: It was an display model, however we did get an extra discount after some heavy negotiations

          • also with all the lockdowns auckland has had whilst the tv was on the floor we thought it was an even better deal

          noel leeming did have the lower spec on special for 3099 for boxed models but went with the model above it

            @kiwiicheapies: Cool, thanks mate. Currently got a 65" OLED and brightness is not a problem yet, so good to keep an eye out for these. I wasn't sure if QLED will be an upgrade or side-grade but looks like some of the QLEDs have similar blacks as OLEDs which is promising.

              @brownie1: Make sure if you're wanting similar results to an OLED you get a neo Qled 'Mini LED' as a normal QLED doesn't have the best black levels
