Paul and Keri Retimanu, the owners of Karaka Café, have based their business’ core values around their culture: manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga, and kotahitanga.

Walk in the door at Karaka Café and you'll see koru designs. The menu is bilingual with Māori first, English second, and the first greeting from the staff is "kia ora". The music is either Māori or by Māori or indigenous people. On the menu the signature dish is hangi, kaimoana is prevalent, and they even have kawakawa-infused dishes.
