Think you need to spend it while the $100 off $250 promote still available to get 60%+ off, once the promote gone it will only become 40%
When the '$100 off $250 spend' promo is over a lot of things will be 40-60% off individually, which will be an even better deal to use the gc on.
Currently you can stack the promo on 40% off camping gear, or clearance stuff, which makes it almost 80% off.
Got a $250 gift card for $150, then purchased a $700 tent which had 40% off so down to $420, less another $100. Cost me $220 all up with the gift card - picking up this weekend, assuming they won't cancel the purchase
If you had spent another $30 (spend $100 to buy $150gc instead of paying $70 cash) you would have $80gc now ;).

If you got your gift card and haven't pull the trigger you can go in store to try your luck, some clearance items have further discount in-store only, which you can still stack with $100 off $250, make the discount even greater

I was a bit paranoid too! I purchased a gift card on Friday around noon. Then I placed an order around 2pm and used the gift card. Looked at the Kathmandu orders on my profile this afternoon and it was saying "processing", so I thought perhaps they weren't going to allow the purchase (such a good discount) - but tonight I got an email with tracking details! For every $250 that you spend at a Kathmandu store, whether in our Australian or New Zealand stores, or online at kathmandu.co.nz or kathmandu.com.au (excluding gift card and e-gift card purchases), you will receive a $10 Kathmandu reward voucher.
Previously I had "$100 until reward voucher". Now after some purchase my account became "$200 until reward voucher", which means I have qualified for a $10 voucher, but I don't see any email or anything in the SC account about the $10 voucher.
Not sure then. Mine hasn't budged.

My spending on Thursday night gave a $10 that I used on Friday night, spend balance went over $250 again and still waiting for the second $10. Comes in a email, doesn't look like you can check if you have got the voucher on the website other than the spend balance. Yes last few years have been getting birthday vouchers including this year!
And that was all purchasing using gift card, not including the additional $50 or $100 discount.
The $10 voucher counted for the spend also!

Both orders delivered this morning. Good on Kathy for honouring the gift cards and orders that followed.
It is probably a good little short term revenue boost for them and the fact that often a percentage of gift cards are forgotten about and never actually spent so free money for them, so it's probably not worth trying to cancel.
Definitely the deal that kept giving! I managed to use the $100 off twice and $50 off once, all with one gift card of $250.
I got a zeolite shakedry gortex jacket which came down to $180 from $280 on clearance, with my $70 left I bought a zeolite jersey and t-shirt and a trail running belt, had to spend an extra $30 to get the $50 off. Spent $180 in total for $430 worth of gear that was on clearance.
