Heya
I'm currently looking for a new desk but have no idea on where a good place to buy one would be.

Heya
I'm currently looking for a new desk but have no idea on where a good place to buy one would be.
Please leave any website / store reccomendations for good, sturdy desks
(must be able to withstand the weight of a PC)
size = 1200, colour = don't mind too much, style = modernish, fixed (won't be needing a standing desk)
shape would just need to be straight desk
I did get my old desk from TradeMe for $30, it is bloody sturdy and really nice, however due to it looking similar to this I just hate how it looks.
I'll consider desks up to $450
Definitely keep an eye out on TradeMe, there are always offices closing/refitting/upgrading/downgrading and you can often get some real bargains. I got a rock solid, basically brand new corner desk some years ago for $5.50
Second this! Facebook marketplace often has the smaller crowds flogging off office stock on there pretty cheap
Got my last one from these guys after a long search. They were the only ones who had the size I wanted at a sensible price, and it's incredibly strong. You can stand on it.

wow thanks :)
Put one together (‘build’ it):
Get a 26mm hardwood panel from Bunnings (+- $160), eg:
https://www.bunnings.co.nz/selex-2200x600x26mm-beech-laminat…
Cut it to size and sand - sandpaper +- $10 if you don’t have a sander.
Varnish and brushes approx $30.
IKEA Alex drawers +-$220 or cheaper depending where you buy - google for best price/ pickup or delivery based on your location.
2 x IKEA IDILS legs, $24.
Height will be about 72cm.
If not tall enough substitute IDILS legs for adjustable ikea Olov legs +- $38. Use an appropriate spacer on top of the drawers.
If you don’t want the drawers get 2 additional legs.
Bunnings also have sturdy steel legs but are more expensive.
This is a relatively easy way to ‘build’ your own desk without being a DIY-er.
Also google ikea desk hack YouTube videos.
Haha the true streamer setup!
TM does have the occasional deal, recall a Herman Miller adjustable PC desk being sold for $250 or so, salty as f that I missed out, Wakrak prob got it
What size (1400 or 1200?), colour, style (standing or fixed), shape are you interested in? And what's your budget. How big is your PC.
You could easily get something solid second-hand for under $100 if you're persistent in your search. Otherwise, highly recommend a standing desk if you're going to use it quite a bit. Have one at work and I stand 70% of the time. Just have a standard desk at home but a bloody good chair.
