Pretty much as per title, the best I've found is $799 delivered for 100ah.
Its going in a small inflatable boat connected to an electric trolling motor.
Thanks in advance.

It may be worth looking into building your own. I remember a video about someone using recycled 18650s because most of the time packs are thrown away due to one bad battery in the pack.
I have considered this, though with time consumption looking for and gathering enough to make a larger battery etc I'm probably better off hanging around at work for an extra hour a day and buy new.
I'll keep an eye out for some used batteries for a back up battery though.
Other than that, the only other real way to save money on this is to import it yourself from China. The benefits you get from buying in nz aren't that implementable with batteries. Trying to find the lowest price in nz is a large risk of counterfeit. As with alot of imported products in nz there may be a large markup, especially with low competition. Buy direct from a reputable supplier and maybe consider buying more high end to mitigate risk. Most importantly, buy what everyone else is buying(best sellers). Also lifepo4.
Actually the 'large' markup is due to the sheer amount of paperwork and certifications needed to import the batteries to NZ and that's why they're so expensive here compared to Taobao
Yes, most batteries are wired in series so if one cell is bad, the whole battery is affected
Does it have to be a lithium battery? Could use a marine lead acid battery
I could, but size and weight saving is huge with lithium, plus lead acid is typically only good for around 50% discharge meaning i'd need 200ah
It's only going to be a very small boat for upper harbour/estuary fishing and transport to and from hard to reach beaches or camp spots.
So I found this company in Aus called Outbax
They have competitive pricing on lithium batteries. The only issue is they don't ship to NZ.
I know it's tricky sending lithium batteries, but it might be worth a look to see how much DHL shipping would be.
great price but shipping looks to be $300+
I created an account, because I think I might be able to answer this. There is a store in Lower Hutt that specialises in big batteries: Battery Cell.
I've never bought from them, but the Google Reviews look good and a quick look at the website turned up this one for $495
Thanks for the effort but thats an agm battery unfortunately. cheers
Call up YHI Energy and ask them for their price on the V-LFP12V100AH (Vision), should be between $600-700
Thanks I'll give that a go when I"m ready to pull the trigger.
That is quite a low voltage and big current for a large battery compared to the packs used for RC and electric bikes/scooters etc. I would have said to roll your own but it's probably better getting the right one for the application.
Can you provide a link to the $799 battery
