What's the expiry date please?
9th May 2023
Can this be used as drinking chocolate?
Yes. Although this is only 100% cocoa (coco) powder. So you will more than likely want to add sugar or some other kind of sweetener.
Most hot chocolate powders are about 1/4 Coco and 3/4 sugar.you can go to those bin inn places and get some dutch coco to try, i prefer than the ones with added sugar.
Nice! Time to make some fudgy brownies
Thank you
Has anyone tried Donovans Premium Dutch Cocoa Powder that they can share how it is? Could possibly be a cheaper option?
https://www.countdown.co.nz/shop/productdetails?stockcode=80…I have both the one in this post and the Donovan's..do a lot of baking and the Donovan's is good. The worst cocoa out there is Cadbury.
Cheers :)
Donovan's is my go-to, it's much better than the other ones around its price. Just colour-wise there is a big difference between it and say, Nestle
You will even notice a big colour difference between Donavan's and Equagold if you compare them side by side. Equagold is so much darker and richer.
But like you said, you are comparing Donavan's against cocoa around its price. Equagold isn't usually this cheap :)I'm sure it is. I'd always wanted to try it but had been put off by its price, so I've bought a bunch of them
@Plug: Enjoy :)
Cheers :)
Thanks
How is eveyone elses orders progressing? Havent heard a thing since the initial confirmation.
Ordered 21/09 and got it delivered the next day. I’m in Auckland though. Already made fudgy walnut choc brownies with it.. very nice.
Still waiting. No response to order status email last weekend either.
Poor form
That's actually a great price. My local supermarkets sell the 300g jar for ~$14. If you're not aware this is the gold star dutch-process cocoa which makes the best cakes. But if you're just doing kiddy stuff like afghans it's probably not worth the extra cost.
