How this cash back works? Say i spent $100 at countdown, I'll get back $5 credit to use on?

    • Pretty much. Spend $$ at Countdown using the Dosh Card, get 5% of your purchase back. There may be product exclusions.

OP are you able to provide a bit more info around this?

      • Your summary is correct. Have edited post to add info.

  • Is it an application that has to be installed on your device only - no web interface?

    • Looks like it. Everything done through the app (& card).

      • Back to the nineties where everyone wanted you to install an application :-)

  • Is Dosh app/card safe??

    • Safe enough. It's registered as a Financial Service Provider

The countdown cashback makes the deal interesting short term but typically the rates will drop after a few months(like many cashback sites drop countdown to 1.5% and have removed themarket entirely)

    • Yup use it till then, then your bank CC rewards maybe better

  • Does its treat it like a credit card and do a credit check - ie not good when banks look at it like afterpay etc - they do talk about a visa card?

    • It's a prepaid Visa card. Need to load money first before you can use it.

  • Signed up with a + in my gmail.
Now its erroring on ordering the card as 'invaid email'
Seems to be no way to update my email. Poor design

I won't be joining them, as they appear to be technically inept (requiring an application and not having a web interface, as I noted above, is 25 years out of date in my opinion).

If you are correct, then not being able to change an email address is a significant security issue, as it locks you into a form of authentication that you cannot change if it is compromised - just a stupid as using biometrics or any other immutable credentials.

Someone wanting to provide financial services should be better than almost everyone else, not living in the past.

      Alan.

    • emailed them [email protected], Ben replied pretty fast and changed it and told me to email him back once i've ordered the card to get it changed back.

was pretty easy but also let them know to try update the system/app or at least allow changing emails under acc/profile

  • Looks like The Market Cashback has been dropped

  • Looks like the Countdown 5% is now only for online purchases.

I'm pretty sure it never stated specifically online only before.

Can someone confirm if this has been changed from the original?

    • No it was online only from the beginning.

  • Do they have a web or Facebook page that shows who are their current partners and their respective reward rates? Sad to read above The Market has been dropped already…
