Geo-Unblocking Service: Free 7 Day Trial, Then $8.99 a Month (App), or $199 for Hub & 12 Month Subsciption @ StreamLocator

50

I have been using Stream Locator for almost 2 months now, started with a 7 Day Free trial.

They offer 3 options of using it:

  • Downloading the Stream Locator on any android device or fire stick link
  • Google chrome Extention
  • Using the Hub which costs $199 and comes with 12 months free subscription

I find it cheaper because i managed to subscribe to Peacock TV using the Wise Debit Card (can only be watched on TV using Stream Locator App) for $8.49 which is cheaper than $34 ( sport package) plus $ 25 for Basic Sky that Sky charges. If you have a family in South Africa they can give you their subcription details and you watch DSTV Supersport channels with plenty of content. (Not sure if yu can subscribe for DSTV TV outside Africa).

With this unblocking tool, you can watch free to air UK channels, such as BBC (Recently watched the story of Elon Musk documentary and I enjoyed it), ITV, My 5 etc, USA you can watch Pluto to TV, Peacock TV, for USD $4.99 (Currently showing Premier League and RWC World Cup).

Description

StreamLocator app is not a VPN and only helps you unblock geo-restrcited streaming services. It will not help you hide from your ISP and does not affect your IP in any way. It takes the the ease of use of VPN's and the speed and reliability of DNS services and combines them into one package that does not require any additional software or complex setup to start watching.

StreamLocator only unblocks geo-restricted content on streaming services you already have an account with. While some services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO and others require a paid subscription, many services StreamLocator supports like BBC iPlayer, ITV, Zattoo and more are completely free to watch! You can switch between countries to watch different content. For example for Netflix i switch between South Africa, USA, Canada and UK.

Unlike a VPN the StreamLocator Hub will not affect your current network speeds and will preserve the speed you are already receiving. The speeds you will see depend on the speed you receive from your internet service provider.

Can be used with any Wi-Fi enabled devices will work. This includes all major Smart TV's, phones, tablets, computer and streaming boxes.

Smart Hub works with all major Smart TV's, Roku, Xbox and Playstation devices without the need to configure anything. Just connect your TV or Roku to the StreamLocator Wi-Fi and start enjoying unblocked service with any of the streaming services that are supported.

You can connect as many devices as you own and use them all with StreamLocator at once and this will never limit the amount of devices that can be used.

StreamLocator supports 60+ streaming services from around the world.

Perhaps you should have read the post, look at the content instead of just basing on assumptions without verifying information provided on the post

@Mozzie: You do use "we" a couple times near the end..

@Billyspleen75: I see, because i just copied the information from the frequent asked questions on their website

      • Did you write all of this OP or is some of it copy and paste? Struggling to tell the difference (I'm editing the deal).

        • I just copied and pasted, first time posting so trying to get my head around. Thanks for editing

          • @Mozzie: sorry mate, it just looked like an ad by using "we". I have revoked my -1 vote

Sounds similar to what Dns4me does for me (used it for Kayo Sports).

Been with DNS4Me for years. Great service and a lot cheaper than this.

      • I haven’t tried that one because I didn’t see Dstv which is what i was after, i use streamlocator mainly for Dstv Supersport Channels, Showmax and Netflix South Africa.

        • You could always ask them to add DSTV. I think there's an option to request new services on their website.

How do you get access to DSTV by the way? Family member shared their details with you? I'm a former Saffa and would love to catch up on some local content

          • @Stoffel: I see, will probably try to request it at some stage if i decide to make a switch. At the moment i am happy with streamlocator.

I have family and friends who shared the details with me.

    • Hi, I have smart dns subscription due for renewal soon, is it better to switch to Dns4me or they're just same service from 2 different providers?

Smart dns also include their vpn service with their dns subscription.

Mainly use it to unblock geo restricted OTT apps.

      • With Smart dns do you have to connect to a particular server first to access the content?

        • Just have to start the dns service, it works based on Ip, when ip changes have to activate from their dashboard.
Advantage is I can access Disney+ Hotstar from India @ the same time can access Amazon prime from a different location without having to change anything extra.

          • @Ashwin: Thats good, pretty much the same as a stream locator. Will have a look at it. Thanks

Only comment I could find on OzBargain talking about this product is this:

(person 1): Would a VPN be a better option, assuming BBC iPlayer and the other channels are still accessible?

(person 2): Nope. Use a DNS redirect, look up a UK postcode online and you're away. Easy to get all the other UK free to air channels too - although the Channel 4 app is a pain to install.

(person 3): Which dns redirect provider do you recommend? I had getflix some time back but it didn’t work for bbc iplayer from memory- didn’t work for Netflix either at some point

(Person 2): Smart DNS Proxy works. I think I just paid AUD36 for 2 years on renewal. I've also started using a StreamLocator Hub, although I just had a look at their website and the current price is at least double what I paid and is not worth it.
