I just opened a Wise account and ordered a card.
For testing purpose, I tried to buy an item on Trademe (with Ping). But it keeps saying "This is not a valid credit card number". I tried the physical card number and virtual card number.
Is it just a Trademe quirk ?
Yup. Have 130NZD and tried to purchase item of 50NZD
They probably only whitelist known NZ and possibly AUS card numbers
You can use foreign cards but sometimes they require extra verification by holding 0,01c with a code you have email them.
have you activated your card with an EFTPOS transaction to start using it?
You don't need to do this in order to use the card electronically.
Only the physical card needs to be activated with a pin transaction.
You def topped up your wise account with enough credit?
