This is such a good deal, I bought the 245 last year for around $330 and just bought the 745 now for $365. If anyone is wondering, here are the main differences, but at the current price the 745 is a no brainer:

    • 245 has better battery life on GPS. 16 hours of running vs 24 hours of running.
    • 245 is specialised for running
    • 745 has sport modes for snowboarding, open water swimming and kayaking
    • 745 can connect to some bike power meters (the little computers on the bikes)
    • 745 is better for hiking or running offroads. The 245 measures elevation using map data, whilst 745 actually measures the air pressure.

FWIW this is the best price I've ever seen for the 745, usually it's $550+.

  • How would this compare to the Galaxy Watch 5 deal atm

    • I think this Garmin one is a specialised exercise focused watch with some smart features, rather than a smart watch with exercise features, if that makes sense? This one is chunky and rugged with probably better battery life while the Samsung is (in theory) a bit more stylish and more app focused. Dunno if that helps but suggest reading a review of each to get an idea of their key features, if you're on the fence :-)
