  • Loose seedless grapes $.593/kg

Are the 'Loose seedless grapes' really 59.3c per kg, or is that a typo?

If they are, that's a stellar deal!

Regardless, I'm making a trip over there for sure!

    • Typo by the look of it.
The photo in the Facebook link shows $5.93 per kg.

Hard to go back to PaknSave's roast chicken after devouring Costco ones.

    • Are they really miles apart taste wise?

      • Must be their seasoning, plus chicken are fresher as turnover is alot faster. Chickens are bigger too, all for $7.98

        • Their chickens are so damn big, they are really good value

          • @Plug: That rotisserie oven they cook then in is impressive

      • I promise you that there's something about them it's just worlds apart.

        1) they're bigger. We had 3 meals out of one chicken in a family of 5.
        2) no matter what, they hold their moisture. Next day chicken in the microwave, still as juicy as fresh.
        3) the flavour is different. Can't pinpoint the difference but for me, the fact that it never dried up at all made the difference.
        4) for the price… Can't complain.

        • Costco has never cut on quality, even though their prices are not as flash as many Cheapies members expect. Rotisserie chickens and the foodcourt are big loss leaders that drive members to the store, a bit like IKEA's meatballs.

Of course if you're a member you should always get some throughout the year, so as to eat back the membership fee.

          • @Avantime: Got my membership for free 😅 so anything is a plus even at their loss. But yeah, Cotsco is imo for specifics, not my weekly shop.

  • The best PnS BD deals so far!

Pak n Save Manukau also has some of the cheapest fuel in Auckland so good to fill up there after shopping with your 6c a litre off

    • For those with a Farmsource SuperCard, down the road the Mobil Cavendish or Puhinui are better value. I believe the cheapest in Auckland at $2.28 incl discount for 91.

      • Wednesdays are the cheapest I think. Gull Wiri speedlane, NPD and Z Roscommon all competing with one another, as it should be!

Their carrots and onions have been $1 per kg for a while now.

  • Just been there and most of the items on special are out of stuck. No drumsticks or lamb at all.

    • What's the point then? Haha, it's only the first day

      • Good for their business! People turning up in big numbers and once you are there then you end up buying something else anyway.

    • I would definitely suggest getting there early in the day (if that is realistic for you).

    • They had none on the shelf, but were manually handing out 2 large trays to each family yesterday from the butchery entrance.

  • Thanks Cobra! We went earlier today and stocked up on veg. So much veg! Also managed a leg of lamb. No drumsticks though.

The grapes we got are a little soft, wish I'd spent some more time looking for good ones.

    Also didn't spot strawbs.

Madness in the store, but some very good deals.

Maybe could get a price match with TWH for weetbix: https://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/p/sanitarium-weet-bix-1.2kg/R…

    • Yep, they should do that

  • The actual Facebook post for the deals is gone, even though the teaser post is still up.

    • too many angry shoppers

  • Showing on facebook last day for chicken drums and rump steak tommorrow for $9.99

    • Probably try only if you live locally
