  • Thanks OP, bought 2, hopefully it's not price error!

  • Ordered 1 thanks mate. Can't go wrong at that price.

  • Damn, would have been a killer deal if they were shuckable.

Will have to wait for one of these sales: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/712348

In saying that, this looks killer too: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/737958

This just got posted but the product disappeared pretty quick

      • Daaaaaamn. I cry. :'(

What are these prices, they are not mentally sane.

        • I believe its either Amazon UK bots are doing some price matching errors or WD UK uploading the wrong pricing file which is where the good deals are coming from. There have been a fair few errors so far on various products

          • @Tmurder91: Do they ever get fulfilled? With the amount of people ordering on ozbargain, it seems unlikely.

            • @Bill: Not normally. Amazon have pretty good processes to catch these and as far as I can tell, the only times they fulfil them is when they choose to wear the error. I’ve seen errors get filled, but not big ones like this

@Tmurder91: Yeah I seem to recall Amazon US will even cancel an item already shipping i.e. get it returned to them

  • Looks like it was a price mistake: price is now $154AU. Edit: Maybe not, that's shipped from AU. But it's definitely not available at the original deal price anymore.

  • I don't need it, but…

  • Hah, I was umming about it and then a refresh made the decision for me. Must've been limited quantity or a pricing error?

    • I’m leaning towards pricing error.

      • 100%, theres no way a 20TB external drive is meant to be sold for <$100AUD etc lol

        • Yeah. This drive and the SSD were unusually low prices, but still plausible AFAICT. That price for the 20TB drive was insane.

      • Are things like this normally honoured by Amazon?

        • The one time I had a similar thing with Amazon US they mostly did not although did give credit. The deal went very viral though and wouldn't be surprised if they sold 10k or more.

https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/bsxol8/amazon_… (This says 2512 customers so guess it wasn't 10k, still easily 5k though as noted the buy limit was 3 so could easily be an average of 2 per "customer". Also the comment is a bit confusing since it mentions 15 minutes but the error definitely lasted longer than that. It possibly went out of stock, but I think it came back in stock before the error was fixed possibly coming in and out of stock as Amazon stuff often does.)

Note as sort of alluded to in those threads, it was actually more than one error, they had several items incorrectly priced and most of them were cancelled. The 10TB was the best price so the most popular by far though I think. I think there was one item where they shipped one and only one (if you had multiple) at the incorrect price. IIRC for customers in China, they did fulfil orders, commentators said Chinese law required it.

(Edit just noticed same thing seems to be happening here.)

Not to derail the post but can I mention that somehow I managed to get the 55 inch TCL C835 tv from the market for $800 delivered. It was that price for like a few mins near midnight a couple of days ago and I was like no way this is going to show up. Low and behold it was delivered this morning. Cracker tv at that price!

    • Just looked up the price. Crikey. Nice find. Was that through Noel?

      • +4

Yeah, I saw the price on their early black Friday specials and was like wtf? Clicked their link and they had already pulled the page. I thought to check the market to see if the 'special' was still live there and it was along with the then, 11 percent discount. Figured I would give it a go and then wait for the inevitable cancellation but much to my surprise they honoured it! Fair play to them. It was quickly removed from the market after I purchased it and while I was debating making a post here about it lol.

    • Congratulations! That's a $1,000 gift on superb TV with RRP at $3,499.

      • Thanks mate! Yeah pretty stoked. Replaces my curved Samsung 4k tv I bought 7 years ago - what a difference! Only thing is I'm pretty sure im not getting 4:4:4 chroma using it as PC screen @4k 60. More tinkering today to see what we can do!

Oh and yeah, my order got canceled for this hard drive. Sad times.

        • I wouldn't have picked up the error because I don't know my TVs. Must have mixed up the models for a TCL 58" which is selling for $735. I mean if they were selling a 3 grand laptop for only 1 grand I wouldn't have noticed that either lol. You do have to wonder if NL decided to honour your order, or simply unaware they have just sent out a more expensive model by mistake.

        • Didn't even give credit this time?

          • @Nil Einne: Not looking likely.

Was quite chuffed too. Didn't realise I had Amazon Credit. Paid $7 with my card.

  • I've been checking for external HDD deals multiple times a day and I still missed this, crazy deal.

They cancelled my order, so not a missed bargain here. Continue hunting lol
