Breville BES980 The Oracle Coffee Machine (Black) $1996 + Shipping @ Harvey Norman (+ Bonus $200 HN Gift Card with $2000 Spend)

10

Pretty good deal I got it today. Was in between the Dynamic Duo and the Bambino Plus. But this price + finance + $200 gift card sold me the oracle.
Keep in mind that in order to get the $200 gift card, you need to spend over 2k. So I added this specialty coffee to the order:

  • Wowzers that a lot of money for a coffee machine! I assume it gives a near cafe standard coffee? Keen to hear from anybody that owns one aready.

Pretty amazing coffee. There are quite a few YouTube reviews you can check. Easy to use and gives better coffee than 80% of the cafes you get on the streets. Of course you gotta feed it good coffee grounds, and there’s a bit of dial in on the world of espresso making. I’m very happy with it.

This is top of the line coffee machine with dual boiler, I've got 920 pretty much the same without the in-built grinder (which is actually better).

If you know how to make coffee, it'll match or even outperform cafe depending on the quality of beans.

      • That's the one I was going for. Reason I didn't is the good price I got on the oracle. The other is the wife friendliness. Wife wouldn't like the idea of playing around with the grinder settings, doing a proper tamp, etc. The auto-milk steaming on the Oracle is another sell for my wife.

        • I make coffee for my wife every day lol

  • Wonder how it compares to Breville's Nespresso options like Creatista Pro coupled with premium quality pods?

    • Well, it depends on your taste. If you like dark roasts, that's what Nespresso mostly has. It will give you that punchy, dark, kinda bitter taste. When you go over an actual espresso machine, you broaden your options. This espresso machine has the potential to make you better coffee than the $5 cup'o coffee from your local cafe. I don't really think Nespresso has that capability though.

      • I’ve got this machine and for me it has been worth the price. A $2k machine won’t compete with a cafe machine, but it’s a step closer to it. And if you are happy drinking pod coffee then it’s probably not worth it

  • Ordered 3 thanks

  • I've got this machine.
If you are into Latte Art, then the milk made by this machine doesn't make milk good enough for that.
But if you just want a normal coffee of a similar quality to the ones you buy, then this machine makes a great consistent coffee.
More importantly would be what beans you use.

    • Oh bro, we have the same machine but I've never had luck with creating coffee art.

I've always wondered if it's my shitty skills or something else.

      • I've seen people do Latte Art with this machine, but they will steam the milk manually.
        I am still practicing haha..

Definitely hard to do latte art using the "Auto" milk function.

  • Comes with BONUS $330 BARISTA PACK! VIA REDEMPTION also it seems
