Question as I've never used this, can you use your sharetank balance to fuel up anywhere? So if I'm planning a roadie down from Christchurch to Queenstown this summer, it makes sense to fill up the sharetank balance at $2.20/l before leaving with enough fuel for the return trip, so I don't have to pay $2.53l down there?
That's right, once you buy the credit you can redeem at any Z station nationwide (unless perhaps there are some small town ones privately owned that haven't opted in to Sharetank? Not sure)
Can’t you just spoof your GPS location and top up at the cheapest place?
You can but if you get caught they can cancel your account, sometimes the app glitches and states im spoofing.
@coffeee: I have read the terms and I don't remember anywhere saying they are going to cancel the account if user spoof gps. I guess user spoof gps is still good business for Z company, just not good for the Indvidual stations especially where the rent is very high. I guess Z company just tries to satisfy its business members by setting up the software almost impossible to spoof the gps. But i don't think it's in Z's favour to cancel accounts that actually find a way to spoof.

And as mentioned below, it isn't possible to spoof your location as the app prevents you from buying Sharetank fuel if detected.
@Moodkiller: Yes, you are right. they won't cancel the account, just prevent the account from buying until the detect system thinks it's not spoofing anymore. I guess the reason they do that is because Z company only considers BP, Gull, etc. as competitors, getting share tank spoofers is still winning customers over these competitors
You cannot - the app has detection methods for spoofing GPS, rooted devices and devices that are on charge. See Cheapies Frequently Answered Questions re: Sharetank

Depends where you are? Challenge in Killarney (Hamilton) is $1.99 with Smiles 10c discount (today only). Cheapest Z is also Hamilton Rotokauri @ $2.14 which is probably the cheapest ShareTank price in most recent times.
It’s a game of chicken with Z, petrol prices have fallen an average of 10c since the last time this deal was posted a week ago. I think they are about to fall a lot further and Z wants to lock in some higher prices.
In Auckland, sharetank is more expensive than some Pak'n Save prices…
For reference, the cheapest Auckland Sharetank prices in the last couple of months have been 91: $2.189 95: $2.359 (South Auckland, was at the time of the last bonus day), slightly above this currently.
Christchurch peeps, 91 is $2.229/l at Z Waikuku and $2.209/l at Z Amberley if you happen to find yourselves north of the city tomorrow. Assuming today's prices are the same tomorrow that is. Quite a bit less than the city prices I'm seeing at $2.399/l.
