Valve Steam Deck (64GB) $848.70 + Free Shipping @ VChain Global ECommerce via Dick Smith (Kogan)

70

I've been watching the prices for these on dicksmith/Kogan as they seem to fluctuate every 12 hours or so - this is by far the cheapest I've seen. Apparently switching the ssd is fairly easy too.
Lowest price seen for the 256gb so far was 1009 (currently 1069.30)

I bought the 256gb on Thursday - currently in transit out of HK. Via a 3rd party but under dicksmith repair rules etc

  • Wow that's a very competitive price for sure getting into the ps5 price range. Would getting one of these be a smarter move than getting a PS5, is it a better gaming device?

This is roughly the power of a ps4, depends if you want to game at home or handheld.
This is more useful as its just a computer but game support is improving so will be better later on.
Prices should drop a bit more so.

  • Yeah i went for it couldn't resist at that price.

Keep in mind that the 64GB model is also eMMC, which is essentially an integrated SD card in terms of speed, which is wet hot garbage compared to the 256/512GB NVME chips in the better models.

It's expandable. I wouldn't mind having an extra emmc module for media storage.
Plus you can get a high-end/larger nvme for the price diff(take into account thermals and size limit)

  • All Gone :(

  • Im selling my not used steam deck 256gb nvme ssd as I have upgraded it, you will not have to install steam os :)

$200 upcharge not bad considering GST+Shipping
Similar price to importing yourself but that is a bit of a pain.

it's so (profanity) that gaben lives in NZ yet you can't order a deck from within NZ

  • I grabbed a 256GB in December from this supplier, took about 2 weeks with no issues. Just make sure you check for it daily, the currier just left it behind a pillar. Luckily it was one of the few days it wasn't raining. The tracking also didn't update so could have sat in a puddle for days.
