hi, I'm looking for a jumpstarter for a 5.3l petrol. The old Mechpro 1200amp used to start a 5.7l petrol, but new ones say a 1200 won't cut it. The AA was no help at all. Any advice on what size I need and is there a best time to buy one. (Also any insights on why the new 1200a won't start 5.3l when the old one started 5.7l with a totally flat battery). TIA.

Hi there,
I would highly recommend this stuff:

U can try to surf the Web, maybe it is still available somewhere on NZ's websites.
For instance:
"70mai jump starter max 18000mah buy online nz"I purchased one last year (by mighty ape for β190$) and I am still very pleased with its performance. ππ» Very helpful for my Toyota Harrier G350 (3.5l, petrol)ππ»
Cheers! ππ»
Probably slightly more expensive, but far more portable, you can get something like this: https://hulk4x4.com.au/products/electrical/lithium-ion-jump-β¦
I was very surprised at how well they perform, I had a tractor with a completely dead battery that wouldn't start from a jumpstart from a ute or a 2000amp jumper unit like that Mechpro, but it started easily from the "hulk". It still showed 80% charge after one jump too.
Repco are still listing the old mechpro 1800a units on clearance.
Looks like some stock around the country.

Otherwise the projecta units are pretty good.
