  Nice price for portable drive, for anyone interested in a cheaper 4TB drive, DSE have the 4TB Seagate desktop drive for $219 here.

    Had a few Seagate drive failures in the past. Not sure I'd trust 4T's worth of data to such a drive. Bigger drives, bigger losses. But then, any brand can potentially have its failures.

      I've had the same experience, but with WD. It simply comes down to chance really, quality of hardware is one factor, but every HDD is going to fail, how long it will keep spinning for is anyone's guess, regardless of which sticker it has.
