Wondering the same. This Philips hue system sounds terribly expensive
Phillips bulbs are little bit more sophisticated they have a wireless bridging system where each bulb can transmit information to expand coverage around the house from the homebase that does not require an Internet connection. The app and hardware are updated regularly so I suppose you'll pay for that as well. I also find the bulbs last and the cheaper Kogan ones for example have failed. I certainly wouldn't buy them at today's pricing, when I bought mine from Noel lemmings on special ($145 three colour bulbs, a homebase which I sold for $65.) One -day had the non-colour Hue bulbs for $10 each.
Not speaking about this deal, but is CSC membership almost useless now? Eneloop prices are bad.

Depends what membership you have. CSC Premium goes alright. Panasonic Eneloop Pro AAA Size Rechargeable Batteries 4 Pack $23.45.
