As someone who has never flown with jetstar, are they really that bad as people say they are?

Told my work colleagues about specials from jetstar and as soon as they heard jet they said nah

  IF. they fly then they are fine. They charge for addons so you just have to watch you aren’t over weight etc.

  If its just withing NZ and with carryon then you're ok but i wouldnt use them unless you really want the cheapest shitty service esepcially to Oz
  
  Also they're pedantic about luggage weight, DO NOT Exceed the weight even by 100g for both the main and carryon. Also conform to their dimensions else expect overcharges at the airport during check in. Your Purse/Manbag should be part of the carryon too.
  
  I'd use them at times when i can't get a AirNZ price within price range, for 1hr flights i can deal with it to save a few bucks
