JVC 55" 4K QLED TV $599 @ The Warehouse

190

It is the lowest price for a 4k qled tv I have ever seen. The similar tvs from other brands will cost you more than one thousand. I don't know its full specs. But it is a good deal!

im sure this is the model number - JV55ID7A2019Q
the market had it for $400 apparently
    https://themarket.com/nz/p/jvc-55-inch-4k-ultra-hd-qled-smar…

    • They were like $300 ish or below on warehouse stationery website last year BUT most probably a very minute amount for sale at that price. Could even be store demos.

    • Market one is just smart tv - old android UI. where as the warehouse one is Google TV with new Interface.

Just read the reviews on the Warehouse pages. emm… One says the TV feet are very thin.

  • Does anyone know if this model runs the Freeview Streaming TV app?

    • +1

it has google tv so you should be able to install apps but they dont provide any info on the hardware/storage.

  • +1

i cant find any info on who makes the panel, samsung or lg. but skyworth has the similar tv, just trying to figure out what model jvc slapped their label on.
when its this hard to find info on the panel its just best to buy a more common brand that provides this info.

  • Does anyone have this TV ? https://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/p/veon-50-inch-4k-ultra-hd-go…
Looks good cheap deal and a common review complaint is that tvnz+ playing glitchy, but not sure how can this be tv issue except app demands more memory and TV does not have sufficient memory. So I am after the technical specs if anyone knows (google is not helping much too).

    • Of all the Veon TVs I've seen in store they were never good quality, although that may have changed now but you should probably view in store before buying.

Veon? Nope, just nope. Probably not helpful I know, but just don't do it…….

      • JVC is not much better, it's all "made" by The Warehouse

Anyone know best bang for buck 4k 50” please? Sony, Samsung or can get away with a JVC etc.? Don’t want a laggy TV either.. It’s my first time buying a TV and I moved back to NZ recently so don’t really know the market here (seems models for Samsung are different here than in Aus) + warehouse reviews are of your average joe talking about how it fits their tv stand perfectly so they rate it 5 stars.. or delivery was super fast 🤦‍♂️ versus an informed cheapies/ozbargainer.

    • Ok Chawks, have a look at the 50" model of these JVC series TVs. On the Warehouse web site it's on big discount now at just $539.

JVC 50 inch 4K Ultra HD QLED Google Smart TV
      https://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/s/twl/product/R2837228.html.

A BIT OF A CAUTION NOTE FOR ALL CHEAPIES CONSIDERING THE 50" OR 55" MODELS OF THESE JVC SERIES . (OR LARGER SIZES TOO I THINK): IVE SEEN THE PICTURE ON THE DISPLAY UNITS AT THE WAREHOUSE. ITS QUITE GOOD, BUT IF YOU CHECK FIRST YOURSELF YOU MAYBE DISAPPOINTED IF YOUR THINKING YOU WILL GET A KNOWN JAPANESE/ KOREAN BRAND NAME STANDARD OF PICTURE PERFORMANCE. Happy buying. :)

Thanks ROBDEE, am open to getting a JVC, QLED too! I guess I’ll have to head in store and have a good look at them to get a better idea, thanks for your input and comment :)

Could be wrong but suspect it is a rebadged Blaupunkt 55" QLED. The remote control is identical apart from brand name. There is a review of it here. The stand looks slightly different, may be slight variation in specs but remote control appears to give it away

    https://www.igadgetsworld.com/blaupunkt-qled-google-tv-revie…

    • More likely that both the JVC and Blaupunkt are rebadged Skyworth TVs (https://www.skyworth.net/global/about-us.html). Blaupunkt doesn't really make products anymore but rather license their brand to other companies. Similarly, JVC licensed it's brand to The Warehouse Group in the NZ market.

  • Keep in mind that The Warehouse exclusively licensed the brand JVC for AV products in New Zealand. It may have a JVC badge on it but it is "developed" by The Warehouse Group.

Why did JVC destroy their brand like this?

    • Once a company realises they can't compete or the owners want their payday they just sell the name. Happens all the time with multiple brands. The number of actual companies is shrinking as we head into ever bigger mega conglomerates. Packaged food is particularly bad. When you dig down there are only really 10 mega brands that pretty much own everything there.

  • Little off topic but I think the Hisense TVs are much better:

    https://www.harveynorman.co.nz/tv-and-audio/televisions/4k-u…

Its about $744 which is the lowest according to pricespy, I don't think its a QLED panel thou. I personally have bought the U7 series, which has a brighter panel, besides that I found the image to be pretty good for both the A7 and U7 series and also it has a 3 year warranty. Not sure the warranty on the JVC but looking at other manufacturers they are usually 12 months.
