Panasonic Flatbed microwave for $298.
It is not the cheapest price ever but still reasonable for this time.

When i heard about these i literally thought its witchcraft.
I've been using one for many years and will never go back.
There were talks about how it won't heat the food evenly etc, absolute bollocks!
In practise how do they compare to the 32l versions?
The usable area is larger than 32lit as they don't have any turntables
Less moving parts is always a good thing for heavily-used appliances
I am pretty sure that the bit that rotates is underneath the flat bed, rather than the platter rotating. So still has moving parts.
@nzmax: yea the antenna is below the flat plate here is one example.

Fyi as there's no pic on the site… The usable area of this microwave is quiet small compared to it's foot print
Yeah 27l is quite small. Like significantly smaller than the older 32 we currently have.
The flatbed model is even bigger than this 32lit. Check it on the store.
thanks for this. i'm in the market for a new microwave. Is this the best one in it's price range?
Check this out as well. Have heard good things about neochef.

I have that one and can highly recommend it
I was about buy this one and went to the store. I felt the Panasonic flatbed was better and bought Panasonic flatbed.
Seems so
If anyone wants a second hand one for cheap. I have one I was going to list on trademe
Are you able to post the trademe link here?? Or perhaps the username and I’ll search it, thanks
I just got this one and it is really good. Even though it is 27lit but the usable area is much larger as the entire rectangle area can be used.
Panasonic states it is 31% larger than regular ovens.
No turntables are really handy.
For those that haven't experienced what a flatbed microwave is. They don't have a rotating turntable in them. So you can heat alot more food in then as you don't have to worry about that rotation for the food to be evenly heated. Had one for 6 years now, going strong
