Credit Cards with Bonus Airpoints Dollars (ANZ?)

Hi Guys,

Anyone knows if ANZ will be running a Credit Card Promotion soon?
Last year they has a deal going on (May 2022) but I haven't seen it since.

  • ANZ Airpoints Visa Platinum: Signup & Receive 400 Airpoints with $1000 Spend in The First 3 Months ($150 Annual Fee)

I need a Credit Card ASAP and ANZ seems to be the best one (+ you get bonus status points for flying).

Thanks in advance.

Amex. 300 points bonus, 1 airpoint for every $59 spend. But it has $195 annual fee.

I think they have other cards with smaller bonus and fees.

Seconding Amex. ANZ Airpoints Visa Platinum earns around 46% fewer Airpoints Dollars per $1 spent than the American Express Airpoints Platinum Card.

Amex's $195 annual fee means you'll need to spend $11,500 per year to cover the fee - my $200/week grocery spend covers most of this. vs. a $16,500 per year spend to cover the ANZ platinum fee of $150.

I've had the ANZ platinum for 5+ years and have earnt some good mileage with it in the past. However, since ANZ reduced their earn rate from 1 Airpoint for every $65 spent (back when I signed up) to the now abysmal 1 Airpoint for every $110, it really isn't worth it IMO. And they got rid of the bonus Koru lounge passes! I'm just waiting to book my next trip to use up my current Airpoints before switching to Amex myself

Moneyhub has a comprehensive comparison between the two and also a breakdown of all of the best credit cards can be found here

You can link multiple cc to the same airpoints account. Just enter ur airpoints acc no when u sign up for new CC

      • Yea I just don’t spend enough to justify paying fees on more than 1 card at a time..
Amex platinum coupled with a no fee card like the SBS Visa CC (earning cashback) for when Amex isn’t accepted will prob be the route I’ll go

        • alternatively, you can downgrade to The American Express Airpoints Card which has no annual fee, but this really depends on how much you spent each year.

  • Dosh has 1% cashback (debit card)
