Warehouse Pricematch Limit of One Product

Hey fellas

Just did a pricematch for some face wash, and the live chat informed me that the pricematch applies to one product.

Just tested it in the cart and when you change quantity above 1, the discount applies to the one item.

No more 25x lindts for $1 ea…

  • It's quite random, depends on a few factors like the agent (as always) and the way the discount was applied (eg. total price difference vs. single item price).

You may want to try putting everything in your cart and then get the price match, and try a few different agents.

  • 😔

  • This has been mentioned a few times but it still very much depends on the particular agent you get and the way they apply the price match (either individual unit or as a total discount).
It definitely doesn't apply to only one product. Commercial quantities are excluded which your 25x Lindt might cross into, but buying two or three bottles of facewash I think could be argued is not commercial.
Latest update to their price promise is 12th January 2023 here

As akrotohur stated above just put everything in the cart or disconnect and go for another agent.

    • I found going to chat with more stuff than your actually wanting to buy wok out better some times, want 3 bottles put in 5 then drop the quantity if you feel like after, also if your buying like 25x Lindt put a bunch of other stuff in your car before you goto chat like stuff you may buy or just other household goods, makes it seem less suspicious/commercial

      • Or just do 5x5pc orders and pricematch them, no way they are going to check your previous orders.

        • true but i'd only do that if i got denied the first 1-3 times, easier to delete stuff from cart after talking with chat than talking to them 5+ times

  • I can't see any mention of that on their long price match guarantee page https://help.thewarehouse.co.nz/Help/s/article/Price-promise . IANAL but they can't just make things up as it could potentially be misleading under the FTA.

    • The problem is, almost all retailers do not have very clear price matching policies, most of the staff make things up on the fly, it's up to you to argue if you think it's worth it…haha. Eg. I don't think anyone mention they won't match products on clearance, but one staff told me "Ohh, it's on clearance, we can't beat that", then at another store of the same retailer, I got price beat with no issues.

  • They're going to have to be careful and clear on their policy as CC are already investigating Noel Leeming again https://i.stuff.co.nz/business/131782773/noel-leeming-market…

    • +1

IMO they need quick simple fines if companies are guilty.

      • Noel Leeming really needs personal accountability from whoever is in charge lol, nothing will change until execs get a kick

$200k fine a cost of doing business when you're making much much more than that through assurant and the way the warranties are sold is dubious at best.

(thinking back to a specific fine they received anyway)
