    Thanks for the T&C's @Wakrak

  • So if we bought car, home & contents it would be 1500 flybuys points?

  • +1

I calculate that this is worth about $90 in New World dollars. I would shop around because the savings at other insurers maybe betters.

    • +2

It would also be $187.50 worth of fuel discount ($3.75 x 50L)

      • Keen to know what happens to the points if the discount is more than the pump price i.e. discount is $3.75 per litre and pump price is $2.50 per.litre.

    • Would be happy to try a new insurance company, just got the latest from AA and its up 18% to $1500. Any recommendations out there?

      • Initio - Have home and car.

        • Is Initio car insurance cheaper than Tower? Tower is so much cheaper by using CSC membership.

          • @Superpower21: Have not tried with csc. But it was higher without csc for sure for me

Edit: you need to be csc member to get discounts?

            • @ace310: Yes I have a CSC membership and you will have to click through the CSC link to get the discount.

@Superpower21: How do you find out what the CSC discount is with Tower? I found Tower home insurance cheaper if you buy via Trade me insurance.

            • @nzmax: You have to click through CSC link to get quotes from Tower. Car insurance is a lot cheaper than AA and State but still like $10-$15 more than TM. I get airpoints for the policy, so can't be bothered to change to TM for $5-$10 difference.

Tower house insurance is not cheaper through CSC comparing to AA lo, and I highly recommend NOT TO INSURE the house with Tower. The fence between us and neighbours fell down after heavy rain during Auckland anniversary weekend. AA asked us to get a quote from the builder then approved it. Our neighbour is with Tower, it took them 6 weeks to get an accesser to see the fence and rejected the claim saying it wasn't well maintained, therefore they are not going to cover it. Both my friend and I also had problems with Tower house insurance before. I will definitely stay away from Tower for house insurance.

      • I moved to Trademe insurance, which who is a reseller of Tower. I found they were the cheapest for my circumstances.
