  • Anyone used any of the Nest cameras before? I've been trying to understand why it's all so expensive

    • i want to know too, i think they have a better recognition software but you need a paid subscription to save history (one reason i went with tp link cameras with sdcard)

If you have a newer camera like Nest Cam (battery) or Nest Doorbell (battery), you can get up to 3 hours of event video history without a subscription. But for most older Nest camera and doorbell models, you need a Nest Aware subscription to get event video history or 24/7 video history.

      • Look up Wyze Cam 3.0.

        • i did but i still dont get why nest are expensive?
also i dont know where to buy wyze cam here to compare to this.

Nest cameras are generally considered expensive compared to other brands. According to an article on Android Police, the prices are simply ridiculous1. The cost for outdoor cameras is at least US$200 or US$400 not including install, monthly or yearly fees2. CNET also reviewed the Google Nest Cam with Floodlight and found it to be good but expensive at US$2803.
