Referral codes and links are not allowed OP

    • Sure, then 1gb it is

  • says referral code is invalid

    • +1

this is the voucher code not referral

  • I googled a referral code and got additional 500MB.

    • no problem there, my request now approved.

  • +1

This guy. Stop adding your referral code to the post.

    • oh sorry thought it was approved. random referral works.

      • 👍 looks like a few people have joined already too. Only six so far, so you might get a bit of data out of it.

        • +2

I'll only get 500mb when people buys data packs.
Which I don't really care, and I have not been travel for the past 10 years (since I am broke, so I am on cheapies all the time).

        • Just not familiar with the referral system here and if people missed out the referral code they'll lost the 500mb, anyways.

          • +2

@blacksheep: All good. Got sorted in the end. Just can’t post specific referral codes/links as a deal or in a comment anywhere on Cheapies. Not fair if one person gets all of the referral bonuses. The system helps to spread the love.

            • @Wakrak: Sure, and appreciated the site, just figured out how the referral system works now (but I am not posting any referrals).

I am not a big fan of referral system, used to deposit back all the mortgage referral (that's like thousands of dollars) back to my friend.

              Will continue to share deals.

  • To be fair he did say don’t bother buying any plan that would give him 500Gb.

    • +2

exactly, as long as people getting the extra 500mb I am ok.

  • I need some help.

I clicked the link and then I downloaded the app but I'm not sure what to do now?

Do I need to buy a pack and then I get extra data? Or?

    • Click the "random" link with the app installed, that's what worked for me.

    • No, you don't need to buy any pack to start using it.

There is a button on the top left corner says 'Redeem gift or voucher', that's where the code GOODTOFLY goes to (if you missed out the referral code when you sign up, you'll miss the 500mb).

Also, make sure you have a phone that's got E-Sim enabled. and just scan the QR code to active the esim (I had to restart the phone to get it work, samsung fold series).

    • Also I think the data is pretty expensive, it's good for emergency use.

  • Works now, thanks!

I have installed the app, clicked the referral link (random (16)), redeemed that then redeemed the code written next to the cart icon.

    Thank you both!

  • Referrer gets nothing until referee buys data plan.

Saw it needed my legal name (as shown on passport) and proceeded to delete the app. Security v Freebie?

As they say in Cyber-security "You can either choose security or convenience. You can't have both"

    • Who’s checking? Any service from Facebook, Steam, Discord requires your legal name.

  • I'm guessing there's no mobile number given? (never used an esim before.)

    • No, it’s data only eSIM.

      • +1

Are there security or privacy implications of connecting my device to a random eSIM from a company I've never heard of?

        • +1

          Same thing i'm thinking.
Their website doesn't give any information about who they are or how long they been running..etc

          • @mrphil: Thanks for pointing this out. Is there any reason you can't just put Joe Bloggs? Do they ask for a copy of your passport or something?

            • +1

@gotmilk: you can, they didn't ask a copy of my passport

        • Likely a get the app on your phone kind of deal in case you travel. I may use it in the US at the end of the year if its any good.
VPN can always keep your traffic private. they might sell DNS data but cant really determine much anyway

  • Not sure why it wants name as in passport.

    • +1

My passport ID name says Mickey Mouse

  • +1

How safe is this to use?

    • +2

It says it's using spark nz for nz coverage so it seems to be a resellers of some sort. I'd recommend to switch on the VPN while using data although https is very hard to crack but I did some experiment and it is possible to crack through llm (such as chatgpt) that trained specifically for hash keys and passwords.

Also definitely not giving away passport name or date of birth.

      • Thanks sheep, I'll give it a punt.

  • +3

I checked it online with a couple of scam reporting sites. It passed all with the only comment that the owner had blocked their details for privacy which is not unusual.

  • Just a heads up, POCO F3 is not esim compatible. Sux.

  • Worked for me thank you!!! Off to Europe shortly :-)

    • Europe has EU wide roaming agreements, you could buy a cheap data plan from an Eastern European country and use it anywhere in the EU.

this deal along with 1$ rebtel is what you need for travel. you get both calling as well as data . Make sure you set your rebtel app to use data for calling

  • Thanks, posted on ozbargain. Does this include 5G on spark?

  • Thanks OP, will come in handy for my Vietnam trip in July!

  • Someone unpublished my comment for no reason. But read the t&cs

The company who owns this is a marketing firm would recommend using disposable number as their website talks about ad injection

    "DataPro PTE"

    • Depends on what comment you're referring to. One was removed automatically by the system because it apparently included a link that was considered affiliate/referral/spam.

      • Ah I had a link to their site with the t&cs

  • Thanks for all signed up from my referral link. I got 10+ but got none 500MB. so this code doesn't count, right?

    • Referral bonus you only get when someone buys a plan. So essentially you won't see anything more then 1.5gb which you already have.

I have also got around 8-9 referral sign-ups, but won't get more bonus.
