  Are these ok for general storage in a pc? Ie non NAS or would i be better going with the BarraCuda range of drives?

    It should be fine. Got the 12tb one from last deal and using it in my pc for media storage. No issues so far.

        Not that much. Once in a while I hear the head scratching noise, but on idle or normal use haven't made much noise.

  Great price on the 8TB thanks, got 8TB for roughly the same cost as the 4TB that has been on my watchlist for the last year.
