LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 Core (Set of 280) $113.85 Delivered @ Office Max

350

I'm always interested in Lego tech stuff and noticed they're on sale in OfficeMax long time ago. I just found this one in clearance and looks like I missed some other interesting ones.

Normally these are for education (and cost a lot!!) but they work with powered up motors and sensors and vise versa.

sensors in clearance as well

Distance Sensor
Tilt Sensor
Motion Sensor

This LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 Core Set was created to enhance students' curiosity and science skills. The set features a storage bin, sorting trays, labels, a Smarthub, Medium Motor, Motion Sensor, a Tilt Sensor, and enough building elements for two students. The accompanying desktop and tablet supported software provides an easy-to-use programming environment and includes the WeDo 2.0 Curriculum Pack, which covers life, physical, earth, space sciences and engineering. The eLearning program helps teachers to become confident users and features inbuilt assessment and an integrated documentation tool.

  • Thanks, that's Christmas sorted for my son

  • Thanks for the post, this gets great reviews on Amazon, only NZ RRP I could find when this set was still for sale was around $460 NZD,

Looks like great fun for the kids so have ordered a set thanks!

FYI: the set seems to be EOL/Retired, which is probably why its going cheap now.
But hopefully the software side doesn't get closed

    Replaced with Spike Series
    https://www.teaching.co.nz/page/mta-nz-lego-learning-system

    • Wedo or Spike is the theme/brand for education sets.
for normal Lego, it calls powered up which replaces power function.
the Hub, motor and senser can work together.
I bought these 3 sensors before, and they work on powered up hub
From what I know, powered up is the new generation of Lego tech and will continue a few years at least

  • Thanks for posting. Looks like a huge discount although its end of life.

I found another clearance Lego set for only $73.35 LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 Space Challenge Set

    • mindstorm is really an end of life one

    • +2

Note that is just an expansion set for another type of robot EV3

      • Oh that's dumb. I didn't realise that.

Is it any good without the core pack? I guess that includes the programmable controller

  • Thanks, picked up one too as even though its EOL its still a huge discount!! My girls love playing with the brain box sets and lego so this is a perfect combination of the two!

Old video but shows it off pretty well - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9e_P9PXRQk

  • Thanks, got a set! Recently got the LEGO Boost (also retired) set second-hand and it's awesome, so will go well with this set.
Gutted to have missed out on the BricQ set, looked to have been a steal at that price.

  • Are you guys getting extra sensors? are they useful going forward?

    • +1

depending on what you'd like to make. smart hub in this set only has 2 ports I think. once you know how to paly it, you can buy the powered up hub with 4 ports, then you can connect the extra sensors

  • wow, 111 left now. when I posting, it was 222.

  • Thanks OP

Saw this post last night. Mulled over it a bit, the set is retired and might not be as much playable as it was before. But then again, thought so what and got one. Thanks OP!

  • Oos now.

Product Obsolete. Quantity available for ordering is -9.
    Please reduce your ordered quantity.

    • looks like still 70 left

      • Showing "No Longer Available" on the product page.

        • still 70 left. I can add 1 to cart and check out.
did you click on the 'go to deal' button or the links for the sensors?

          • @jeansfish: That's how my cart looks like. Tried two browsers and both were the same. https://ibb.co/GH7M3K2
But I managed to place the order as a guest after I logged out. That's pretty weird.

  • Wedo has been superseded by Spike Essential now. It's for younger kids. It's based on regular Lego bricks. For 10 years and above you're better off with Mindstorms (recently retired) or Spike Prime which is based on Lego Technics not their regular bricks (but it ain't cheap).

  • Has anyone received their order yet? I have only received the purchase email but nothing else.

    • +1

      Yes, have received

    • +1

got it the other day. already played and found it can work with multiple sets. wish to buy more but oos now.

  • It seems like my order was cancelled because I can see the cc charge reverted. Haven't got the cancellation email though.

    Bummer. Missed out on this.

    • Did you check your order status in your account. Though their order history page is odd, you can search by order number to check status.

I ordered another one since I knew that multiple sets can be played together. After saw your message, I checked my order and find it is in back order now. I don't have refund yet, so not sure if it will be cancelled or not. what is your order status?

      • I didn't create an account on OfficeMax. Used the guest checkout. So can't see my order status. But I talked with customer support via live chat. She said that the order was on back order and they were waiting for the stocks to arrive from Auckland.

I told her about the CC charge reversal but she couldn't see it in her system. She said to wait and watch. I still haven't received a cancellation email though.

        • Thanks for the update. My order may be same but I'm in Auckland. Hopefully they will have more to release

        • my backorder is ready to be picked up. so your one may be same

          • @jeansfish: Cool. The charge on the card is gone. I still haven't received a cancellation or order shipped email. Will have to check with support on this.
