Hey everyone,
I wanted to share a long running deal that I am using from Felix, an Australian mobile network operator, that could be a solid fit for those who need an Australian number while traveling abroad or for anyone visiting Australia looking for a local SIM card.
Section 1: For Those Visiting Australia
Felix provides a straightforward and reasonably priced plan for anyone visiting Australia. For $35 per month, you get:
- Unlimited mobile data at up to 20Mbps
- Unlimited standard talk and text in Australia
- No lock-in contracts or hidden fees
- Bring your existing number or get a new one
- Quick switch with eSIM
- Access to the Vodafone 4G/3G network
Section 2: For Australians Traveling Overseas
If you're an Aussie traveling abroad and want to keep your Australian number active without paying the usual monthly fee, Felix has a $20 per year international roaming package. This is a good deal if you're looking for low volume use of your Australian number overseas. Here's what it includes:
- 4GB of data
- 100 standard international minutes of incoming and outgoing calls
- 100 standard international SMS
- Coverage for 365 days in over 40 selected countries
While you're overseas and using this international roaming package, the regular $35 monthly fee is suspended, so you're only spending $20 for the whole year. If you consume all of your minutes/ data / messages you can extend with another $20. Those allowances are cumulative.
All in all, Felix offers a fairly competitive deal, especially considering the international roaming offer. You can check out the full offer on the Felix website. Safe travels, everyone!
Please note that you CANNOT buy Felix SIM cards in shops. You will either need an eSIM device, or an Australian postal address for them to post a SIM card to you.
