Could this be NZ's cheapest electric bike? In regards to build and quality of this bike… Don't expect a lot and certainly don't take it off road. 26inch wheels in this day in age are about 12 years behind the times.
Cable brakes, yikes! Should be good for a simple commute to work and back.

Truthfully when I look at this bike it scares me. I'm no professional by any means, but I do some fairly decent mountain biking and I would not ride this on anything more than a road or cycle lane.

  • Looks like these are the products that would usually be on 1-day. J&J, Thomson, Liberty etc.

  • +1

I wonder why they still use a 3X front and suspension forks on these. Given this bike isn't going to used on loose mountain climbs. Using a 1x and fixed forks would reduce cost (it's what my wife eBike has).

    • Completely pointless having a front derailleur on an ebike, 7-9 gears is the norm or 10-11 if you are series about up hilling.

    • These rear drive motors are very weak at low speed and offer very little assistance, so you need the low gears. Reason they have 21 gears is because they cost pennies compared to a 10 speed. Unfortunately, in 4 or 5 years this bike will become landfill. Also, a lot of these cheap Chinese batteries are secondhand cells from electric cars and are prone to failure.

      • The low end on most 1x is the same or close to 3x. With a small front ring it's the top end speed that you lose out on. It really sounds prefect for these sort of bikes.

        • A 10 speed 11-46 still have more range with the same front ring. This bike has a very small freewheel range. It's really only a road bike that looks like a Mountain bike. The problem with these hub drives they only have one gear as opposed to mid mounted motors which have 7 to 12 gears or in the case of my Yamaha power bike it has 22, My Bosch powered trek which is 11 speed I can get 50 km an hour out of it. Most the time on both of the bikes I just double click and skip the gear.

  • Is the price wrong or am I doing something wrong, when I click through I'm getting a price of $999.98 for it

    • You need to add it to your cart first.
