I will never buy another Samsung appliance again after our horrible experience with the quality of the plastics on the fridges and the lack of customer support wanting to amend.

    • Yeah I've had terrible experience buying direct through Samsung, you basically receive no support if things go wrong and end up in an endless loop of emails and "I will forward the email to our support team" and nobody ever follows up. 0/10 would not recommend!

      • That's not good. Does waving the CGA around have any affect? Do they have an NZ head office?

        • I doubt they know what the CGA is honestly they didn't really care. You can only communicate through a bulk channel email customer service rep who will forward your email to another person, who will maybe reply, but when you reply to the person handling the case, the email goes back into the bulk channel and you get stuck in a loop of sending photos, asking for serial numbers etc and promises of follow ups. People may have better experiences than me, but honestly Samsung customer care is the worst I've experienced. I run a Galaxy phone and tablet, so there is no bias against the product. Just the service direct with Samsung is horrible. I'd deal with a third party like NL or PB tech anytime over the direct channel.

        • They really don't care.

They claimed that the shelves that came with the fridge was an accessory and hence comes with a six month warranty or something.

Just for context, the plastic edges on the shelves cracked… all of them cracked because they weren't suitable for the cold, dry environment of the fridge.

Lastly, this could have been resolved and they could have made me a super happy customer by replacing it for $65.

@turtleattacks: Same sentiment here. Support direct is appalling; worse than appalling…it might as well not exist….I have only purchased direct when it was something I had little reliance on and would be fine if it exploded (under the belief that I wouldn't get any help from Samsung direct).

    • Same here.. Got a leaking fridge within 1 year purchase, repaired 3 times and still failed so got a different model replacement. Then 2 years later same problem again. Finally throw it away and bought another brand everything’s fine..

    • What fridge did you buy? I was looking a side by side that seems good…

      • Don't. Get something else.

      • Don't. Try something else..

    • samsung is just one of those brands that I never have good experiences with, swear off of them, then come full circle and make the same mistake

  • That's a pretty awesome code @Crabataur - what circumstances prompted the support line to issue you with that?

Also, confirming this works in combination with the Govt EPP store and 10% welcome discount.

    • I've also got a Govt EPP account but can't get the code to work. Presumably I'm accessing the same store as you: https://www.samsung.com/nz/multistore/govt_epp/. Can I ask what product you tested the code with please?

      • did you try applainces? ie. whiteware etc.

        • Yeah I tried an oven, microwave, vacuum cleaner and a washing machine but each one gives "The code you entered did not affect your order. Please note, codes may only be valid for certain items or in certain conditions". I have placed orders on the store previously so am no longer eligible for the welcome discount. Wonder if that has something to do with it. Hmm!

          • @TheDealMan: I had the same, tried it on the Samsung External Partners Store (not Govt) with a computer monitor & tv and get the same message. None of the codes work on the site.

            • @mpc: Thanks for confirming, glad I'm not the only one. The only Samsung code from Cheapies that has worked for me on the Govt Store is 'THANKYOU30' - just used it the other day. As an example, try your luck with the $34.50 Samsung Smart Keyboard Trio 500. Should end up being $4.50 shipped :)

              • @TheDealMan: how did you get the keyboard to that price? I can only get SERVICE15 to work

    • Hi how do you get the 10% welcome discount please? Do I have to make a new account to use it? Did they send it to your email once account created? Cheers

      • automatically applied to government account for the first purchase on checkout.

  • Any Samsung dryer recommendations, I was looking at Westinghouse wdv556n3wb vented is it worth it to go HeatPump which is still very expensive? Wonder if prices will come down just like heat pumps

    • They have come down in price a lot, they used to be 2-3k they are now 0.9-2k.

  • Agree with other comments - quality is poor. We have had our freezer die 3 times. They have eventually repaired/replaced but the hassle is huge and I have little faith that it is a 10year appliance..
