My experience, fwiw. I have bought a couple over the past year. First thing to be aware of is that they don't suck nearly as well as corded vacuums - none of them do. They make up for this by using the powered roller brush, and most of the cheaper ones seem to get tangled really easily with hair and fluff. I bought the Samsung Jet 60 Fit, which was good, lightweight but suffered from the tangled roller issue. Bought it for around $250 during Black Friday sales last year for work. Next was the Shark IZ-102. This had a little more suck to it and a much better roller that seems to never get tangled with long hair in spite of 3 long haired people in the home. The Shark is quite a bit heavier, but lasts longer. It didn't come with a charging bracket, so charging is fiddly. They both still often feel underpowered, when you need to suck something up but it's just not coming away from the carpet.

One more issue I've seen is that most of the cordless vacuums have weird shaped sticks and fittings: so if it doesn't come with the attachment you need it isn't a simple case of finding a similar attachment online that fits a circular wand end: they're weird shapes and sizes and you can really only buy the original manufacturer's ones, if they even sell them.

  • Hi there πŸ‘‹πŸ»,

I would suggest your considering this model made by Xiaomi (China, of course 😏):

    //www.pbtech.co.nz/product/HOMMIX36249/Xiaomi-Mi-G11-Handheld-Vacuum-Cleaner-Cordless-Vac?utm_source=Wishlist&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=WishlistEmail&qr=wishlist-email

Yeap, it's 100 bucks more expensive than your budget, but the vaccy is definitely worth it. (It's more cheaper at PB Tech now than the same model on AliExpress platform, besides β€” no need to wait delivery from China and you'll get your warranty from PB Tech if any issues, which is twice good.)

I completely agree with the post above:
none of cordless vacuum cleaners can beat a good wired one. Just NONE of them, trust me. (It's about their suction power and working session time.)
The main issue of cordless handheld vacuum sticks is their batteriesπŸ”‹.
For a decent floor cleaning of an average β‰ˆ100m2 unit/flat at once you'll definitely have to buy the second battery! Please, pay an extra attention to this matter of fact.☝🏻And the Extra battery πŸ”‹will ruin your bank account for extra β‰ˆ100 bucks or even more.☝🏻(Where with corded ones you don't have to worry about it at all, do you… 😏)

I've got the same model of the cordless vacuum cleaner. Bought it at AliExpress platform. It was more expensive there when I purchased it a couple of months ago, then it costs now at PB Tech. Hence, absolutely fantastic deal now here, in New Zealand πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ. πŸ‘πŸ» (If only I could turn back time, I would buy this by PB Teck, 100%…πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ This way I could save me β‰ˆ200-250 bucks…πŸ˜‚πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ)

    To be short:

If you really consider purchasing a cordless vaccy, the model from the link πŸ”— above is the right one. πŸ‘πŸ» I can recommend it. But make sure to secure you an extra battery πŸ”‹β€” this will save your floor cleaning, of that I'm sure. I personally purchased the extra one and never regretted that (and you also won't, trust me. πŸ‘πŸ»)

    And one more thing:
This model is compatible with Xiaomi Mijia 2 Pro and Xiaomi K10/K10 Pro, which is also good, as you can order some additional accessories (extension rods, batteries, mopping heads etc.) via PB Tech (not sure 😏) or directly on AliExpress (100%). πŸ‘πŸ»

You probably might want to have a look at those models, I would definitely recommend them too:

Hope this will help you, mate.

(Don't forget to add "https" in front of "//"… πŸ˜‰)

    • thanks I will go for xiaomi either G9 or G10 or G11 i went through reviews they are all very good

      • Good choice! πŸ‘πŸ»

If among those models you have mentioned above I still would strongly (😁) recommend you to stand by G11 (which is on sale by PB Tech now). Wonderful value for the money they want. πŸ‘πŸ»

The dust container is a bit small to my mind (could be bigger, tbh), but it's another one common issue of any GOOD handheld vacuum cleaner, unfortunately. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

But there's the second option for you which I would still recommend to consider as a purchase:
Xiaomi Dreame T30 (with a mopping head or without it (will be more cheaperπŸ‘πŸ») if you don't need a wet floor cleaning).
Just have a look at its specifications on AliExpress, watch some video feedbacks on YouTube and compare these 2 models for yourself.

G11 or Dreame T30 β€” now no dilemma for me personally as I would definitely prefer T30 now, cuz G11 is heavier as the main suction pipe/rod is made of aluminium (T30 has carbon rods, "Aviation standard carbon fiber stick"πŸ‘πŸ»).

And the suction power by T30 is also a bit stronger = 190AW (Air Watt).
By the way, the dust cup capacity is also better than by G11 (0,6L) which is not less important by the cleaning, is it… 😏

But it's strongly up to you. πŸ‘πŸ»
Who am I to keep you down by your choice, mate… πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

Just compare these 2 models (specifications and videos on YouTube) and you'll certainly find your perfect one! πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸ»

(Though both of them are quite all right.)

        Sincerely…

        • Thanks Dreame T30 seems like premium Xiaomi and is in same ecosystem I might buy it when I am in China not sure , I already have many Xiaomi ecosystem products , yi home cameras since 8 years now , Xiaomi aquara instant hot water dispenser, Xiaomi induction hot plate (we use this a lot ) many other iot devices. Like electrical switches sensors

They are all cheap and great quality .
Do you use any rombotic vaccum ?

          • +1

@desikiwi: Xiaomi or Roborock are great robotic vacuum. I have Xiaomi 1c and very happy with it. Using it for more than a year now without issues. search on cheapies lots of recommendation around that & roborock. Roborock is more premium.

          • @desikiwi: I used to have a Roborock one, by Xiaomi. Almost no complaints about it.

Some models can also be equipped with mops. πŸ‘πŸ»Compatible with their Mi Home App. wich is very convenient.
Absolutely gorgeous for any tile floor. But no good for high piles carpets.

As for the software of Roborock: sometimes it really glitches, pretty annoying. πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
From time to time you'll have to clean its sensors too, cuz if they are dusty it cannot follow the route set up in the map via their app.

Another one disadvantage β€” the prices for top Roborock models.

Nowadays I would never touch this stuff, tbh. (I would, but only if I had hundreds of square meters of tiled floor. 😏 For that purpose it's perfect…)

For carpets and tiles combined in a household I frankly would prefer a handheld vaccy. That's why I purchased one for my family a couple of months ago. No regrets, I'm as merry as a cricket now, quite happy with the G11. (But would swop it for T30 instead, if I made proper inquiries earlier… πŸ˜πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ)

As I can estimate / Accordingly to your needs (light weight = kids friendly, so to say😁) among G11 and T30 I would recommend you to stand by Dreame, cuz it's not heavy, pretty powerful with good dust cup capacity and quite acceptable batteryπŸ”‹. (But, please, do not forget: the second battery πŸ”‹ is essential, "must have", no need to doubt it, trust me.☝🏻😏)

T30 is available on AliExpress (there's a link above), with /without a mop. So, if it's urgent, no need to hesitate, place an order, you won't be disappointed. If it's not, and you can buy it in China πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³ in person, β€” good, do this way then… πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸ»

(On the other hand, the G11 is also not bad and is cheaper now here, in New Zealand by PB Tech.
            Dilemma for you, isn't it…πŸ˜‰πŸ˜)

            Cheers! πŸ‘‹πŸ» πŸ™‚
(Sorry my wasting your time… πŸ™πŸ»πŸ˜‚)

TBH I think you should stick to corded for best results. Especially if using for a car, as they usually have lots of attachments. I have a miele cat and dog one which has a power brush handle for the car for cleaning the carpet. Also have a stick one but the bin in it fills up after about 5 minutes and has to keep being emptied, and the battery only lasts a little while before needing charging, after just 2 years use. Also it has a rotating roller which is not supposed to be good of wool carpets. I remember as a kid using a corded one without any issues

    • -1

Yeap, none of the sticks can compare to a good corded one, that's true. The suction power and autonomous (uninterrupted) working time β€” these are the most important and desirable things we need from a vaccy, don't we… 😏

But sometimes a handheld stick can be very handy. When you are short of time / space, there's a small amount of mess to be cleaned, a spider web πŸ•Έ in a couple of corners etc…πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

      As for their batteriesπŸ”‹:
They are also different. Nowadays good companies use lithium ion ones which could last a decent period of time with no losses of their charge capacity. So, li-ion is very important from that point of view.

U r absolutely right about the difference between the sticks and corded vaccies. With corded ones u do not have to worry about the power supply, "plug and playπŸ”Œβ–Ά" almost as long as you want (depends on the dust container, of course 😏).

But there are certain pros of having a good cordless vacuum cleaner too, to my mind.πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ They mostly have all necessary accessories (different kinds of brushes Incl. mite brush which is good and quite important for me personally cuz I do vacuum our mattresses in the household). Many types of the pipes/suction rods.
And absolutely gorgeous for a car cleaning (especially if you have a spare li-ion batteryπŸ”‹πŸ˜‰).

I have a brand new Xiaomi one, cordless, and cannot complain about it…πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
(I've got a good expensive corded Bosch Silencer too. β€” Didn't touch it at all since I have purchased the stick…)

      Cheers! πŸ‘‹πŸ» πŸ™πŸ»
