Free Heirloom Seeds (Tomato and/or Bean) When You Send a Self-Addressed & Stamped Envelope to Heritage Food Crops NZ (Whanganui)

280

Choose from heritage tomato or bean seeds
Looks like no rush/expiry date so maybe we can stagger our orders rather than cheapy it next week with dozens of orders.
The seeds are free, you just send them a stamped self addressed envelope.

They also do free apple trees (Free collect Whanganui, or pay courier costs.)
All trees for 2023 have been allocated but you can ask to go on a list for 2024.

Golden/Orange Tomato Seeds
Tomato seeds should be planted indoors in September for transplanting outside when there is no risk of frost.

The Trust makes seeds of these varieties freely available as a well being initiative for all New Zealanders, and gratefully accepts any donations to help us continue our work.

To obtain 5 packets of our best varieties, please send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to:

Heritage Food Crops Research Trust

Heirloom Bean Seeds
Common and Runner beans are best sown outdoors in October to November, when there is no risk of frost.

To obtain some of our best varieties, send us a stamped, self-addressed padded bag, with names of any specific varieties you would like or preference for green and/or dry beans and we will select for you:

If requesting both Tomato and Bean seeds, just send one stamped, self-addressed padded bag.

Thanks for this. I’m a keen gardener. It was a bit of a mission organising a bubble bag so I opted for just the tomato seeds.

    • Yeah some more details around that would have been nice. I think the concern is the bean seeds could get damaged or they might be larger than the 10mm thickness allowed with a standard envelope. I sent through a small courier bag instead. Will see if that makes it back.
