  • $60 for cupped Pepperoni pizza and i thought the buffalo chicken would be the most expensive.

It kinda amazes me that they're able to stay in business. Like who is buying these pizza's at $60? surely, it's not many people per day?

    • WAY overpriced for $60!

      • You think thats bad, the prices through doordash add nearly 30% on top, even if you pickup

        • That is why I always use them discounts. That $15 off $20 min spend is pretty sweet. Gained alot of weight though!

          • @The Hound: Yeah but $40 pizza cost $60 in doordash, so you are still paying more than not using the app. (45 rather than 40) ridiculous amount added

            • @quote: That is true, plus that $45 referral bonus is no more. I've used that discount in the past.

    • must be a popular place to bring your high school date

Sal's is incredibly overrated in my opinion.

Still, thanks OP. Gonna pass though.

    • Which pizza beats Sals?
Keep in mind they’re a NY style :) not everyone’s cup of tea

Pizza pomodoro in Wellington, its sooo good

        • Which pizzas would you recommend from them?

          • @Stingy: I get a different one every time so i dnt get stuck into the habit of just ordering 1. But I always get them to add garlic oil if it dsnt come with it

      • Settebello in New Lynn.

Gina’s in Mt Eden, Francescas central Christchurch, Cafe Valentino central Christchurch.

        Absolutely Pizza Pommodoro in welly.

        I could continue….

If you’re Paying $40 for a pizza, it better be wood fired, and made from the tears of baby foxes! Not pre-made reheated in the pizza oven like Sal’s do. Plant based fox tears are also now available 😁

        • Haha! I get that and what you’ve sent does look like some nice pizza (will try Pizza Pommodoro this week)

But they’re not NY style pizza, sals has a story and stays true to its origins. Also the pizzas are giant!

Costco whole Pizza is pretty decent for the price. You could even pick up some salami or cheese and top up the fillings on the pizza and still be cheaper then Sal's. (Sorry if not near a Costco)

Just avoid peak hours! Can't wait for them to open more stores, especially the one in Drury.

      • This is truee lol avoid ordering a pizza during peak.

        • lol ordering from the Costco foodcourt on a Saturday…. it will be an hours wait at least

    • Its good for $18 if you put the pepperoni in the air fryer for longer its all nice and crispy.

      • Once or twice I had them when they were fresh from the oven. It was the most amazing pizza I've ever had.
